Friendly, homely enviroment. Very clean”
There's not a lot to do in Padang itself so it was lovely to have a hostel I could just chill in whether it be sitting downstairs watching TV and chatting to others or sitting out the front or on the roof enjoying some fresh air. This hostel is full of surfers on their way to/from one of the islands however as a non-surfer I was still made to feel very welcome.

i wont asked for more with the money i spent, the room was spacious, the cleanliness was top of its stars, staff was friendly, and located in the quite lane of a big street, the place right in the chinese town of Padang

Above average backpacker hostel, helpful staff”
As noted by some other reviews elsewhere on the web, expectation is key here. This is not a boutique hotel (the description slightly gives the impression it is). It's a very good backpacker hostel, clean and safe with a friendly vibe. (A lot of the guests passing through are surfers). Brigitte speaks good English and is a very helpful source of info on Padang. If you want to stay somewhere that's friendly and cheap, this is a good choice.

Fully booked in Padang, only this hotel available”
I had to go to Padang for a conference and booked last minute. Luckily Brigitte's hotel was free. The hotel was fairly basic but good value for money. I had a deluxe room that was clean and a comfortable size. The staff were pleasant and tried to be helpful but their English wasn't great.

Not bad....or outstanding”
I was collected from the airport when I arrived by a cheery driver who took me straight to bridgettes house. When I arrived I was informed I wasn't staying at the original bridgettes house but shipped over to one of her other hotels which had no one else staying in. The room was large but the Tv and dvd didn't work. The bathroom was small but clean and only had the option of a cold shower. I only ended up staying 1 night as I could not find any other tourists and after doing a tour of the city that was enough for me.

disappointment, lodged at different place”
I booked a single room with shared bathroom and didn't expect much more. But instead of Brigitte's place i was lodged at a hotel a few hundred meters away. Would not complain if not the busy street location (full of noisy trucks and motorbikes for most of the night) while the hotel i booked was in a small, quiet street and an awful shared bathroom, with door full of holes and no chance to close it. The staff was quite nice but that was not enough to enjoy my stay. Disappointment.

Good staff, not the easiest hotel to find”
It's fairly hard to find the hotel and I'm sure most taxi drivers wouldn't have a clue where the hotel is. The staff didn't find my booking at first and put me into a better room but once they found it I had to move my things to a smaller room which wasn't very pleasant to say the least. Padang isn't a nice or exciting place so I recommend only spending a max. of 1 day over there. The airport is about 20km away and it takes quite a while to get there.

English is spoken, but you can practice your Indonesian. Staff is EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. They know about and help you arrange all kinds of tours and onward travel. The hostel is clean, quiet and cool. The roof terrace is to die for! Highly recommended.

Great and Spacious”
This place is pretty cool tho. Has a good location and I got a beautifully sunrise literally everyday from the balcony. Warm water in the shower was good and I could either rent bike for a whole day long. Recommend you to stay in this homestay

HARD TO FIND”
Fit for the person who wants the budget hotel. But they don't have the SIGN of this house. So very hard to find for everyone except the employees. And somebody grated me. One of emplyees stared at me while I was sleeping that was a VERY HORRIFYING NIGHT

We booked on line impressed by the photos of the rooms and garden at the entrance. However, on arrival we were told there was only a room available in a nearby building. To get there we had to cross a busy street and open a huge set of steel doors and walk through a garage to get to our rooms. We missed out on the homely garden as we were locked behind huge steal doors.

Not the best place to stay..”
First, I've been offered to upgrade my room and I accept it, because it's good deal I think. But, when I stay longer in the room, I'm very disappointed. Well, bad bathroom, the toilet has broken, and the water is dirty, maybe because the location is near to the beach. If you have more budget, I don't recommend this place for stay. If you are a backpacker/ low budget traveller, then maybe this place suite for your needs.

They should have a locker if someone booked a dormitory room for saving guest's property. I just feel not safe around the stranger, though.
