Usually I don't write reviews, but this time I just have to share my positive experience. We stayed for a short trip in early April 2013 in Anika Island Resort. The time in the resort exceeded all our expectations by far! The location and hotel beach are superb. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are very nice and clean and the hotel is very nicely integrated into the surroundings of the island. Overall, I can absolutely recommend the place for everyone who prefers white beaches, crystal clear water and a native surrounding to the busy streets of Cebu. Still, Santa Fe offers some nice bars and restaurants to enjoy the last hours of the day, but don't expect too much night-life going on on this cozy island. The hotel staff will make you feel like home and arrange everything necessary for you, whether you decide to do some island hopping/snorkeling on Virgin Island (it's a must...!!!), want to rent a scooter to discover the island on your own or do a guided tour etc. As Bantayan Island is quite far from Cebu/Mactan airport, I recommend you contact the hotel in advance to arrange an airport pick-up to the ferry in Hagnayan and vice versa. The transfer will be more cheap than taking a local taxi and the driver Jimmy is a nice and honest guy and besides also a very safe driver. You can also book him for a very recommendable Cebu sight-seeing trip, same like we did on our last day. We will definitely come back to Anika Island Resort..!!!

Pros: Fabulous clean beach from heaven! Bright and spacious resort unspoilt with concrete. Sand and trees giving a natural feel. Friendly staff who even provided me a portable clothes rail to hang my rinsed exercise clothes to dry without me asking. Helpful and knowledgeable waitress who gave advice what to see in Bantayan Island. Great aircon in the room and good cable tv. Cons: Ants in room 18. Broken bed legs in room 19. But easy to fix. Staff said my bicycle was not allowed. Don’t know why. Food in restaurant needs improvement to compete with other establishments. Coming from Cebu City we are used to a high standard for food. We expect this when we’re on holiday. A broom in each room would be nice so guests can brush the sand out.

My Lao girlfriend wanted a nice quiet holiday, so after searching the internet Bantayan Island came to my attention and on further searching this beach resort. It is every bit as good as the high praise it has so deservedly received. The staff are wonderful and so friendly and made us feel very welcome. The resort itself is something out of a dream resort travel brochure. Located next to the waters edge the tradition style beach huts look beautiful and come equipped with modern living living standards, tv, wi-fi, air con etc. This has been far and away one of the best places I have ever stayed, it is perfect for a relaxing, lazy break to forget all your troubles at work etc. The only downside for me personally was I had my mobile phone pick- pocketed at the local store. The owners partner Anna was so helpful to us in trying to locate it, unsuccessfully unfortunately, and then going to the police to file a report so I could make an insurance claim when I got back to the UK. I simply can't praise this place enough, just look at all the other positive reviews of this little gem of a place and you can't go wrong than to book a stay at this wonderful resort

Before we booked this hotel in Bantayan, I thoroughly read the reviews that I found here in Agoda. And yes, it's true, Coucou Bar Hotel & Restaurant is indeed located at the heart of Santa Fe in Bantayan Island.. It's not a beachfront property, but it's just around 3-5 minutes away (depending on your pace) from the beach. Walking is our thing, so we didn't mind.. It's a few steps away from an ATM, right across the street is a huge grocery store where you can buy your basic needs, and just a little bit further, you'll have a variety of shops & restaurants to choose from (never miss out on Chef Panyang at the MJ Plaza, love their food!).. This is not a brand new property, but they were able to maintain it's cleanliness and classic structure inside out. The staff were okay, although we didn't have much interaction with them, because we were too busy with our tour around the island, and their awesome beach, Hahahaah! Don't stress yourself in booking your tours in Bantayan in advance, because there are a lot of locals there who are more than willing to offer you on what's there to explore in Bantayan. Just do your research before your trip, then help the locals by booking your tours with them once you arrive.. :-) We stayed at this Hotel from June 21 until June 24, and we were on the 2nd floor, Room # 9. Although their beds were comfy, the ac in our room wasn't powerful enough to cool the entire room. I don't know if it's because it's an old ac, or maybe because the room had a high ceiling, or both. Good thing though that there's a wall fan in the room to at least help out with the temperature. And yes, we had a peaceful sleep for the entire 3 nights stay.. :-) The TV in our room wasn't working, but we didn't bother to address this with them, because we were really engaged with what the island has to offer. Then there's the safe that we found inside their cabinet which we thought was a good place to store our valuables. It's sad though that the safe wasn't working, so

My stay was short and sweet. I got the best room with a view (balcony). Perfect spot during my me time at night looking at the moon paired with good music. I will definitely book the same room (#40) next time. I will never get tired of Bantayan Island and I just found the perfect place if you want to be near the center of Sta. Fe. as well as with a beachfront property. Pubs and Restos are just walking distance. Till next time, Marlins! Thank You!

it's a very good hotel to stay at the bantayan island, it has a very good territory, especially in comparison with all other hotels of the island. the hotel has pools (if you need them). the main disadvantage is lack of its own beach, it is situated on the seaside though, but it is rocky. however, in my personal opinion, this disadvantage is compensated by the territory (all other hotels near santa fe that are on the beach don't have such) and you are also free to choose any beach you would like to stay at on the island. moreover it is natural that you will get bored of staying on the same beach so personally me i enjoyed changing the beaches, taking into consideration that there are different types of them. just pay the hotel and you are welcomed. the other disadvantage - located not in the center of santa fe. for someones it may be an unpleasant fact, but as for us we rented scooters (peso per day) and did have lots of fun, flexible to travel across whole island, different beaches, different places. rooms aquiped with all that is needed, but seems like with a minimum for a good hotel. hot water, aircon - all is availiable, but the equipment is not a hi-tech... not sure that any other hotels differ though...

My 3 day stay at the hotel was fantasic! The hotel price was not that cheap, but I really got what I paid for. The hotel was amazing. Very accessible to the beach since it's a beachfront hotel. The over all facilities were good. They really showed native Filipino Houses and its unique style. This hotel served foods that will satisfy your palates and craving to different cuisines. Kudos to all of the staffs, they were friendly, hospitable, approachable and accommodating. Lastly, the place is so quite where you can get peace of mind if you want to escape the city life. I will go back to Bantayan Island next year and definitely book this hotel again. "best decision talaga that we chose Kandugyap over any other resorts in Bantayan" - my girlfriend and I would always tell each other. We arrived at Hagnaya Port around 4 in the morning and we immediately called Kandugyap to ask if they could pick us up at Sta. Fe Port when we arrive and also request for an early check-in. We were glad and surprised that the owner answered our call and happily granted all our requests. (We're really sorry sir if we disturb your sleep. Hehe) Upon reaching the terminal at Sta. Fe Port, we are delighted to see their striking in-house rover waiting for us along with the driver who greeted us cheerfully. Upon arriving at Kandugyap, checking-in was a breeze, we were introduced to the villa and the staff left us on our own to explore the place. The senior citizens (my mom, aunt and uncle) were readily amazed by the looks and atmosphere of the resort. The only CON about this place, in my honest opinion, is its location in terms of transportation and access to stores & restaurants. I don't remember seeing any tricycles passing by the house (except maybe tour tricyles or private ones), there are few ones waiting outside Ogtong Cave Resort though but you have to walk a few hundred meters to get there. Anyway, you can always ask the staff on how to get around town or you can just hire a private tricycle to drive you around. I also recommend to buy food & other stuff that you need before checking-in or when you get the time to stop by at the town's public market. If you're looking for a place to just chill and unwind, away from the hustle and bustle of the town, and if you can't stand the noise and activities of too many people in one resort, Kandugyap is just the right place for you. If we are to visit Bantayan Island again someday, we will definitely stay at Kandugyap House by the Sea again. <3

Truly one of the best, if not the best, accommodation in Bantayan Island. Our flight was delayed for 5 hours and they were easy to contact to let them know of our situation. We also had to wait for the 1st ferry ride (1AM) so we were a bit worried how we'd go to the hotel. Thankfully, and without us knowing, their staff was actually waiting for us at the port to pick us up - now that's one hell of a superb customer experience! That isn't even part of the hotel booking we made. The staff were also very helpful during our stay and helped us get the best deals for island hopping. Truly one of a kind customer service. Thank you and we will be back again for sure!

There were no large and fancy hotel or resorts in Bantayan Island as the Island was quite remote and not yet highly developed as compared with Cebu or Manila. However, we were surprised by this little beautiful island as well as Beach Placid Resort. Very friendly staff and yummy food. We had all dinners at Beach Placid throughout our trip. The only minus thing was water leakage at the water tab but still acceptable to us. Also little ants around the door but we swept them out from the room. Staff was very helpful and attentive where they arranged shuttle service for us from Cebu Airport to Hagnaya Port with a reasonable price. I will certainly stay at Beach Placid again if I go to Bantayan Island.

We arrived in Bantayan around 8 in the morning. We were picked up from Santa Fe Port for free by Mario(Yooneek's staff). We're so early that the room we are about to use is still occupied. We were advised that we can check in as soon as the room becomes available. Mario has offered us to rent a motorcycle so we can roam around the island. We agreed to rent it for only 300php and we have decided to tour ourselves while waiting for check in. We came back around 12nn and our room is ready. They allowed us to check in early free of charge. I have also asked if we can use our free breakfast in advance since we are going to leave early the next day and go back to Cebu City. All their staff was very accommodating. We truly had a great stay in Bantayan. I will surely come back to Yooneek and recommend this property to all my friends.

Maia's is 12kms from Sta Fe port, yes it is quite far but worth it. Beautiful, Serene and has an Amazing view too. They also offer motorcycle rental for only Php350(full tank na un) and we used it from the time we arrived. Those who assisted us during our stay are very accomodationg and friendly Kuya ( Maia's Shuttle service driver) who drove us back and forth Sta Fe port, thank you. AteKuys(dont know how to call her/him, confused ako) thank you for giving us addt'l 4hrs extension for free.( ang gala kasi namin) nag road trip kami sa buong Bantayan Island kasi😂 Sa Cook who prep our food, ang sarap po.. Our DIY trip to Bantayan Island will never be that amazing if not for Maia's accommodation. They offer exactly what we need. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a newer resort in Bantayan Island. I liked the friendly staff and free breakfast. I also like that it is cute and cozy. Oh and there's a gym. Cons: I didn't like the beach. It is only swimmable when it is high tide, otherwise you would have to walk far out to the sea to enjoy and you probably also wont enjoy it because there are already seaweeds that far out. So if you really like the white beach vibe and swimmable beachfront, the best beach in that area is the Kota Beach I think.

I was able to search for the name of the resort and found out that "Kota" means Happiness or Good Fortune. This resort is located in Bantayan Island, it took us roughly 4 hours drive via Bus from Cebu City proper and about 1 hour via Ferry boat. To get there, you can take the North Bus Terminal bound to Hagnaya Port, and from Hagnaya Port you can take a Roro to get you in Santa Fe Port. The resort offers free pick up from the port to their resort vise versa. You just need to text or call the resort front desk officer ahead of time so that they will know. We booked this resort via Agoda and we were totally enchant and mesmerized as soon as we arrived at the resort, it was beautiful and tranquil. The staffs were kind enough to welcome us in their resort, they even grant us to take an early check-in since we arrive very early and luckily our room is ready and available at the time. Our room is a Beachfront Suite which consist of one Queen size bed and 2 bunk beds, can accomodate maximum of 4-6 occupants. It was super clean and cozy, the bathroom is welcoming as well with hot & cold shower. But no TV and their WiFi is limited in the rooms causing a weak internet connection. Though our room was located close to the lobby, which is also beside their restaurant, somewhat convenient to us. They offer complimentary breakfast especially for the ones who booked the Beachfront suite. The restaurant is quiet and overlooking the beach and their food was okay. I appreciate all their staffs because they were very courteous and accomodating. Excellent service! The beach is breathtaking, it was perfect in the sense that there were only few guest at that time we booked the resort, not crowded and we really enjoyed our stay. One thing we look forward to see is the famous Sandbar which is located at the left side part of the resort. Very stunning and magnificent. Located just a kilometer away from the main port of Bantayan Island and a 5-minute tricycle ride from the main strip of Santa Fe, this place was a secret gem! Great price deals on their rooms with AC if booked through Agoda, nice cold cheap beer, calm and quiet beach front, clean linens, nice and friendly staff, motorcycle rental at reasonable rates, breakfast and room service, and did I already say serve cold beer? Something very rare to find in the Philippines ;) This resort is great, and the prices are very reasonable—you get a lot of bang for your buck.

We spent three nights in Bantayan Island Nature Park & Resort and I was totally satisfied and happy about my choice. First of all, the resort is located on the sea [accessible by stairs, no beach unfortunately], surronded by plans and flowers, in a very nice and relax environment: just great to walk around and enjoy. The staff and owners and just great and really willing to help and serve your wishes. Breakfast is ordered the day before and delivered in the room at the desired time. If I'll go back to Cebu area, I would definitely go back to this hotel.

We visited Bantayan Island in Cebu last Apr 2018. Found Seaview Apartelle here in Agoda. They’re located in Santa Fe and very near the Kota Beach — really good if you’d like to wake up in the morning and walk to the beach by sunrise. Their staff are very friendly. Thanks to Ellen and Jean provided satisfying customer service to me and my family. We availed a room for 5 for a night and it was a relaxing stay. Try them out. I highly recommend them if you’re planning to visit the beautiful island of Bantayan in Cebu. If you’re looking for a local tricycle to hire with a driver and a tour guide, look for Brad. Ask the hotel reception and I’m sure they’ll recommend him as well.

It was a rought start! I originally booked 2 nights in this hotel. I didn't make it on the first night because my flight to cebu was delayed. I arrived in the Island on the 2nd day around 5:30AM. I got to the hotel, it was not the hotel that i expected with security guards and a 24 hrs front desk. The entrace was closed so we have to knock and call. Thank God the owner heard us and he came out. He looked pissed because we woke him up..... my friend and i agreed it can be acceptable. I said sorry for waking him up and said can we just stay in the lounge until the check in time (Since it was toooo early). He went back to his room and we thought we would go back to sleep and just left us there. After 5 mins he went back and ask for my reservation, and eventually gave us our room. We were pleased, that would be a nightmare if he just left us at lounge until the check in time. The room was good, clean and spacious. Good worth for the price we paid. The family who owns the hotel were very accommodating. It's near the beach. SUGAR beach and Marlin beach Resort, that made it better. I would like to Suggest if Micky would read this, hire an experienced hotelier to help them manage the resort. Chef to help them serve nice meal or they can go to cooking class, so they can have a variety of meal in their menu. That would give their guest an over all good experience and more income for them. Relatively close to the port of Santa Fe, to town proper and to the beach. On arrival owner claimed our room was double booked so we had the luck to be upgraded not complimentary since it was owners fault but had to pay P300 extra with no O.R. for a room with too weak air-conditioning. The place has a restobar/convenience store and motorcycle rental available but I recommend people to go by tricycle or pedicab into Poblacion (town proper) and rather get a place there if they intend to stay for some days while in Bantayan Island...

The place is a little far from the main coastal beach place but is walking distance. If you are looking for a beach front, this is not your kind of accommodation. As per the owner, they just recently acquired the property from a foreigner who sold the property. So, expect the place is old and musky. Facilities are at bay next to nothing. The owner's are kind enough to apologise and make sure you have a comfortable stay. The place is recommended for budget traveller.

If you are planning on staying in the Santa Fe area of Bantayan islands and can sleep through roosters this is the place for you. Fantastic value for money. The caretaker was always there for me. I rented a scooter through the guesthouse for 300p a day. Others said that I could get one for 200p a day. Bed was a little on the uncomfortable side but I still slept well. I wish the blanket was larger. lol seemed like a kids blanket.

I am glad I found this place. The owner was really nice and approachable. He even introduced us to his guests next door so we can join their virgin island tour, and because of that we were able to save some money. He let us rent his scooter for a much cheaper price so we can roam around the island.
