Peaceful, Relaxing and very private getaway”
The blue water sumilon hotel is an island hotel proximate to the town of Tan-awan, Oslob where you can see the whale sharks. We initially planned to spend a day in Bluewater Sumilon after we saw the whale sharks in Oslob. When we got there, we were so amazed at the beauty of the island resort hotel. Everything was so serene and peaceful. There were hammocks in some cottages facing the ocean so you can literally just spend afternoons lounging around or reading a book. There are massage areas facing the beach so you can relax and unwind. There is also a hiking trail around the island which simulates real hiking in the mountains but without the hazards. Must try for those with low cholesterol, the lechon kawali! The sunset from Bluewater Sumilon is absolutely breathtaking. Share it with a loved one. Set backs: very poor and busted snorkling gear and a snorkling area with nothing to see except a few corals and some fishes. But over-all, we would go back to this hotel. You should try it out yourself.

With your welcome drink, sit, relax while enjoying the view and the breeze. You can swim or take pictures while waiting for the boat to arrive to pick you up (since they have schedule of picking and sending guests to/from Sumilon Island). It's only 15 minutes away from the pier. Then when we finally got to the island, I had an orgasm :D The sandbank... OMG!!! The gorgeous fine white sand, the color of the water from turquoise to dark blue... I thought I was in heaven for a second :P Anyway, I give this resort 5 stars overall :) It was all worth the money, effort and sunblock!!!

Sumilon Bluewater island resort is one of the best summer resort I have visited. I love the beach, the food & the smiling staffs on the island. It is a refuge for a well deserved family outing. Trekking around the island is a revelation. Stone-edge paths, light house and the old baluarte. The sand bar at the southern tip is tantalizing with varied shapes depending on the time of the day . The water is pristinely blue & clear. I could not resist a last dip before leaving the island. A place worth going back soon!!

Sumilon Bluewater island resort is one of the best summer resort I have visited. I love the beach, the food & the smiling staffs on the island. It is a refuge for a well deserved family outing. It was our 10th yr wedding anniversary and they’ve prepared a simple but special table for us at dinner still joining their buffet. We got a letter congratulating us when we went to the room. Simple gestures but made the occasion more memorable for us! Thank you Bluewater Sumilon! As an in house guest, it feels comfortable to walk around since there are places not accessible for walk in guests. You could walk around with your favorite beach attire and everyone was so friendly. Location was very convenient for us since we r from Dumaguete city. Big and guarded parking area at the mainland so we had no worries at all. To all the very friendly management and staff, thank You! Definitely won’t be the last time to visit!😊

We had a great stay for our 5th anniversary on Sumilon Island. For a day trip, I'm not convinced that it is worth the effort, but if you stay at least one night, you'll have enough time to do all the island activities and you will experience the island free from boatloads of day visitors. Book well in advance though. The dinner and breakfast buffets were excellent, and it is clear that they make a ton of money from the drinks. You are not allowed to bring any drinks/food onto the island (we had a special bottle of champagne (for our anniversary) that I dragged around for two weeks that we had to leave behind at the port). Expect to pay about 3 to 4 times the normal amount for any drinks (local beers, cocktails etc) on the island. Apart from that, everything was great. Pros: Great staff, big rooms, gorgeous infinity pool, good food, good massages Cons: Day visitors, expensive drinks

It's our 3rd time to visit Sumilon Bluewaters and this won't be the last. My husband and I loved the place so much. It also has some fun to offer for our kids. It's great for all types of travellers, may it be a family, a group of friends, a backpacker or couples. Aside from great environment, ambiance and accomodation, they also offer great customer service. We really feel like we were VIPs, if not, owners of the island. They only have 15 cottages, and the island is huge enough to offer privacy and relaxation to all its guests.

Enjoyed Sumilon Bluewater Island Resort”
My wife and I stayed 2 nights at Sumilon Bluewater Island Resort in September 2012. The resort is nice. Nice design and décor of the buildings, rooms, restaurant in modern native motif, pool and overall layout of the resort. The rooms are well appointed, duplex style structures with lanai overlooking the sea, very clean and comfortable. The restaurant is open-air overlooking the pool and sea. There are lounge chairs and areas to relax around the pool. They prepared good food with good service. The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. On one side of the Island the beach has a coral cove with lots of sea life to observe. Many dive and snorkel boats from Cebu come to this area. The other side of the island has a natural sandbar with white sand and sallow, calm, clear blue sea. Nice…just the way I like it… There are also walking trails around the island. Only downsides are the staff quarters/compound and fence surrounding it appear a bit rundown, cluttered with storage of various items and old resort furniture. This is visible on the walking trail. Also, they have a rodent problem near the main pavilion and need to get that under control. This is likely to make some guests uncomfortable or freaked out.
