                  Overpriced poor facilities”

Room, Staff Friendliness, Cleanliness of room.

I thought this hotel was highly overpriced but had poor facilities. It's a waterpark with attractions like giant water slides, infinity pool, beaches, and it's located on Samal Island in Daveo. In an 8-week trip in Asia, this was the most expensive hotel I booked the entire time - and the worst. The beach is not clean and the water is dirty and cluttered. More than half of the waterpark attractions were closed for renovation. There is too much rubbish around the grounds (such as broken plastic chairs and other discarded items). After I'd been asked to order breakfast the day before, and ordered corned beef with bread and coffee, I was told in the morning that there was no corned beef and my order was served with rice, not bread, and Nescafe rather than brewed coffee. After arriving from the airport about 10:30, I waited more than 2 hours for the ferry to the island, as the ferry waits until at least 10 passengers are present. I will say the staff were often very helpful and accommodating, and generally friendly, so I give them credit for that. But the facilities are dreadful and the place is very expensive. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

when we arrive, the lobby is run down bamboo made with dirt and no walkway for our luggage, kinda muddy and dirt when raining the next day. Staff was friendly. Upon arrival we were told that swimming pool is closed as well as the slides, also the infinity is already sold to another person, no hot water, room was clean but due to no walkway you will bring in the beach sand in the room. The beach is around 2 to 3 feet on low tide and 3 to 4 feet on high tide, not a good swimming area but my kids had fun playing the sand. No entertainment just some random music on loud speakers. The food is ok we ended up leaving the resort to buy lunch and dinner, free bfast was ok. Manager or supervisor did not talk to us to explain whywe were not notified about the broken pool/slides, they gave us passes for 4 person, we gave it to relatives. The resort is for sale and management is bad. I feel sorry for the workers. I hope new owner/buyer comes asap to renovate and upgrade amenities. We had a quite stay due to only around 2 to 3 guest. The are better nicer resort in samal with same price accomodotion. I will only go back if its under new owners/management. All in all i rate it 1 star out of 5.

Water park facilities, bar and restaurant, excellent food

Had a wonderful weekend at the resort. The service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble, like getting food and drinks from the restaurant/bar delivered to the coffee shop. The room on first impression seemed a little basic, but everything worked fine and it grew on you. Met with the owner who was a real character. It is not 5 star luxury, but we will be back.

                  I liked the Fiji room

overall, it was a good stay. i didn't know they played music until 10:30pm on friday and saturday nights, but we just 'tried' to watch tv. the fiji room is spacious and i like the 'outside' bathroom concept. open air shower. one problem is the tv is wayyy too small for that room. when they were playing music at night, we couldn't even hear the tv and it was turned all the way up. the internet barely worked when we first got there. couldn't connect at all. the second day, it worked for a few hours and then monday, it finally worked good and worked for the rest of our stay. it's not bad place to stay, but for a few days at most. more than 3 days and you get bored with the food. they also didn't have a few things that were on the menu and their tuna sandwiches had wayyy too much mayonnaise...tuna sandwiches shouldn't be runny, but they tasted good. fiji room 1 has the septic tank right outside and also close to the public bathrooms, so a lot of people coming by the window and taking pictures. we didn't mind the picture taking. you hear the septic truck come and empty the septic tank a few times a day, but it's not too loud.

                  None

This place is a major rip off, go somewhere else. If you do go there, book through the hotel. Now let's talk about the hotel, waterslide poor condition, pool was nice and there is very little bay water to walk in, bring water shoes. Rooms first night the Jasmin, I have seen the poor's folks in the Philippines, who's rooms in better condition, needs major overhaul. Switched to the Figi 2, a larger bad condition. What's with the rock on the shower floor, hurts you feet because they move around. Bed's have a 2 inch foam mattress, bring back pills. Staff was Ok. The owners should be required to stay at least a week in those rooms and maybe they would make some changes. Food, i guess you could barely call it that, the free breakfast was barely tolerable, and what they call a hamburger, don't ask what it is made of, plus meals are prepared in a tent that is on an open dirt/sand floor. I hope you read this before you book, I will in the future stay in a hotel in Davao and not on Samal Island, maybe the paradise would be good and then pay for using their pool. If you want to watch TV you better have great vision, I have not seen smaller TV's like that in at least 5 years, must have got a good deal on the 20 inch TV's. DON'T EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACE.

Unlimited use of the two water slides. Exciting zipline. Entertaining Saturday night fire dancing and beach disco.

Pros: 1) Unlimited use of the two large water slides. 2) 100 pesos to use the exciting zipline twice. 3) Unlimited use of the infinity pool. 4) Fire dance show and disco on the beach on Saturday night was incredibly fun. Cons: 1) Room is overpriced. 2) Smelly and dirty bathroom. 3) Beach, water slides, and pools are overcrowded with day-trippers. 4) Food service is incredibly slow. 5) Water at the beach is littered with trash.

Nice pool, but thats about all

I came all the way from New Zealand, expected a nice stay with plenty of activities to do. I brought my extended family too. Stayed in 3 rooms, 9 people i had travel costs, accommodation in Davao , food and service. This was a big deal for me but was let down by this resort. Was lied to many times. Wanted to Jetski was told the first day all the skies were hired out, 8:30 am next day they would be available, 8:30 next still not ready i had to wait.. I waited 1 hour, still not ready and was told it was too windy and waves too big. I asked the locals and took photos the sea was flat and local boat guy said it was flat too. For your Info they dont own a jetski they hire from paradise Waited 1.5 hours then told them to find me when they would get a jetski. 4 hours later i see Jetskis in the water and no one had come to see me. Also the Big water slides not going . was told the first day that they would be operating 10am the next day. 10 am the next day still not working told by someone else they would be down for a week. After that i went to see the reception and asked for the manager this was 10 am was told they would send the manager to my room. After 2 hours i checked out, and waited 45 mins at reception to see the manager, (reception manager) she was nice but not alot she could do to rectify my problems. Most staff not that nice and very slow service.

The shower was cold water only, the floors were chipped tiles in fact the roomsvneed to be renovated quickly.
