Chatrium Golf Resort Soi Dao ChanthaburiPong Nam Ron,Pong Nam Ron - View on map
"The hotel and the course have been greatly improved - one on the best value golf retreats in Thailand if you are ok with the remoteness, and the manager's incompetence. The location means very little queues on the course. Unfortunately the Golf Course Manager has no idea how to run a golf course so be warned! He will gladly take your money for two full rounds of golf and not tell you that half the course is under repair all weekend. The next visit he neglected to tell us that there would be a tournament playing off both hole 1 and hole 9 so after paying for 18 holes you only get to play 9. Real shame since the golf is so good if you manage to play all 18 holes...."

"Just a 3.5 hours drive from Bangkok and 48km from Chantaburi town, we arrived in this hidden gem where we relaxed and felt so rejuvenated after our 3 nights stay here. Book early to avoid disappointment as they are usually full in weekends. However, the villas in the garden are sparsely separated and so you would still enjoy its quiet and transquil environment. The staff is all so sweet and considerate, especially Mr. Narong who had worked there for a few years. If you like astrology, you could request and Mr. James would gladly share with you his telescope for viewing the planets, moon & stars when the sky is clear. My son had a really great time. We stayed in its spotlessly clean and white polished Garden Villa 3, everything is perfect. The view and the whole year round cooling climate is so inviting that we slept without the aircon (around 19 to 22 degrees). Highly recommend this relaxing paradise if you need a break from the buzzling world. We will return real soon! See you."

"the bungalows are located on a hill with a great view from each bungalows terrace into the country. the little bungalows are well equipped with good beds, fridge, aircon and (local) tv. in general the whole hotel seems to be geared mainly to local visitors. the very joung staff - people from cambodia - do not spead a word english and seem to be little motivated. there is almost no service and our rooms were never made up during our whole stay. fresh towels we only got in a kind of `self service´ taking them from a not occupied neighbouring bungalow. nobody cared. the included breakfast is a good american breakfast with as much coffee as you want. overall it was a satisfying stay, however, you should be selfsufficient to a certain extend and a car is almost a must, since there is almost nothing in the vicinity."
