Hotel Continental Saigon
District 1,District 1 - View on map
"The hotel is situated on Dong Khoi Street by the Saigon Opera House in District 1 (downtown), the central business district of the city. It is very convenient to have a walking tour of the area, and visit all the main attractions, such as the notre dame church, central post office, people's committee hall (which was a hotel by design when it was finished in 1902), and the main market. The hotel was built in 1880 during the French colonial period, it was named after the Hôtel Continental in Paris. Even today, the hotel still maintains the essence of its original architecture and style. Being an old building, the ceiling is really high, which gives the guests a completely different feel. The room we had is also really spacious. Hard wood furniture, European sized twin beds ( gives more authenticity than comfort ), and a small balcony facing the grand Opera house and a small square. All in all, it does give us the chance to travel back in time, and visit the hotel as it was back in the forgone era. Staffs are polite and courteous, which is not really the norm in Vietnam. The breakfast is rather basic, with not too much choices. However, the setting in the restaurant well made up for the shortcomings. So if you have never stayed in this hotel before, and if you are fascinated by history, it would be a worth while experiences to stay for couple of nights. "

Platinum Hotel

"We had a really nice stay here at the Platinum Hotel. First impression of the staff was SUPER. I totally forgot to take into account that on the day we were to check in, our flight arrived at 1:00 a.m. We had to wake the poor night staff who were more than happy to accommodate us with a temporary room for the night. This is sort of a boutique hotel. The rooms are small, but cozy. Since we spend most of our time exploring, that rarely matters to us. The hotel is clean and the buffet breakfast is decent. I had no complaints. A great 3-nights at HCMC. "

"This was my second time staying here for a District 1 getaway. It's a great hotel in District 1. It has modern amenities and nice rooms. It's very clean and the staff are super nice and helpful. The breakfast is fantastic. The rooftop pool and bar is a bit small, but it does the trick for a quick dip and a pool-side drink. There are lots of restaurants, massage, coffee shops, and other places of enjoyment in the area. I will definitely stay there again. "

Lucky Star Hotel 146 Nguyen Trai

"Don't think twice just book it. Felt like a home away from home with the fabulous and attentive staff. Kieu (as seen in photo) and Hiên went above and beyond to help me with whatever I needed and became more friends then anything else. The men that worked the door were also great and the cleaning staff did their jobs extremely professionally. I stayed for 2 weeks (my brother then joined for another week) in a room facing the street and I couldn't have been happier. The room was very spacious and the bed was large and very comfortable (not like other hard mattresses often found). Also the room was very clean (cleaned meticulously daily), had a good working aircon and the window overlooking the street was just huge which I loved. It was also quiet when the window was closed. Big selling point for me was also the big rainwater shower. It is 2min walk to Ben Thanh Market and Bui Vien St (nightlife), but just far enough away to be peaceful. Minimart 150m away. Bang for your buck. Thank you"

Blue Diamond Luxury Hotel

"Normally this hotel would be a bit pricey, but I got a half price room offer :) The room was small but luxurious, with very modern design. The free wifi was a good, fast connection. Much better than wifi in many other hotels. Good location just a few minutes walk to coffee, shops and the very pleasant Nguyen Hue plaza. In the other direction Little Tokyo was just a few minutes walk. The breakfast was of very high quality, but there were no specific vegetarian options. I wish there had been some dedicated Vegetarian dishes, but at least there was good fruit and yogurt, and the staff cooked scrambled egg for me."

"this hotel was a great value for the money. it was located in district 1 about 1/2 km from ben thanh market (not that i think that is the best place to hang around in hcmc, but it is sort of central). super clean, nice furniture. included a computer in the room. i did not use it as i had an ipad, but it was nice to have. free wi-fi, but that is pretty common in hcmc. i decided last minute to try to book a day tour of the mekong delta and the hotel staff set me up within fifteen minutes for a tour that was leaving five minutes later. good breakfast and excellent vietnamese coffee!"

The Spring Hotel

"Great hotel, staff and location. This is a typical 2 star hotel in terms of facilities but the staff and service make it feel like a 3 star. It's close to everything in District 1, has a very good on site restaurant plus there's good local and international restaurants right on it's street. I would stay here again. The spa around the corner on Thi Sach (My Spa, 15 Thi Sach St) is outstanding: Vietnamese pricing ($15 for 90 minute massage) but international quality in a beautiful facility. I would start or finish each day there."
