The location and the view on the lake are great! The freshwater is available for refill. The staff is friendly! We enjoyed our stay a lot!

Not impressed by the food

Exellent stay at an exellent location in Danau Minanjau. The guest house is not super deluxe but surely value for money, especially the waterfront rooms..very beautifull surroundings..very quit...and cosy Bagoes Cafe/Restaurant at the waterfront with good Sumatra food, BBQ...good breakfast...motorcycle / cycle trio around the lake and with astouning padi views , but most important the indonesian and very friendly owner, Jack , arranges all kind of trips to Bukkittingi, Minankau Palace, Harau valley, Coffee Lawang, Kerinci, trip and stay to the remote coast islands south of Padang...eventuelly treckings into the forest...he is really good ! And asks fair prices....A must go if you are around Padang !

This place is amazing!!! We absolutely loved it. Location was perfect with direct access to the most amazing lake. The room was big and comfortable with a big bed. The host, Jack, is simply the best! He was super helpful and friendly, as was everyone else who worked there. Jack picked us up from the airport and also took us on an amazing tour to see the local sights - he could not have been a better host. The food was amazing and there was no shortage of beers! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to visit Lake Maninjau! Thank you Jack for a perfect stay!

The bathroom is quite basic with no loo roll and no hot water.

The places offers a beautiful scenery as you can see a clear view of Lake Maninjau right in front of you. The morning and late afternoon view each offers a different kind of beauty, and you can enjoy this by sitting at a small cottage touching the Lake located at the front yard of the Guest House

I felt uncomfortable being around the owner of the Guest House as he is kind of chatty but not in a nice way. Maybe he makes good impressions on some people, but at some point he did make me uncomfortable, especially after I asked if the Guest House offers some slippers, or lend some for the guests, I was surprised by his response when he said "this kind of cheap Guest House wouldn't offer such things like they do in a hotel". I got his points, but it wasn't a response I was expecting from someone who works in a service sector. He could've said something nicer or informed me the alternatives, such as informing me a convenient store where I can get some slippers around the Guest House. Also, as sensitive as it might sound, as a local (an origin of West Sumatra living and been living abroad for quite awhile), I sensed the owner being nicer to the foreigners compared to the locals. I thought it was just me, but I did observe the way he treated some other locals during my stay, he wasn't acting as warmly as towards the foreigners. I hope this mentality of his could change in the future.

Staff and food are excellent. Ovation unbeatable for this area.

Rooms are dark and bathrooms need a major update.
