Best place to stay”

The staff is amazing, the rooms are awesome, the location is great, the breakfast is superb! I cant say one bad thing about our time. Supit is the manager and he knew our names and made sure we were taken care of no matter what the issue. Always was around and always had a smile on his face! The bellman were extremely kind and helpful and the front desk staff off the charts! The housekeepers were the best and did a great job keeping our room tidy. We had the pool villa and it was great after we had been out riding our scooters all day and then jumped in our private pool. The workout room was great..basic equipment, but overlooked the pool and did the job! Had all the machines you would need! I absolutely would stay at BayWater over any place else in Koh Samui!

This hotel is currently in its soft opening phase, and we could not fault our stay. We were at the hotel for 5 nights. The hotel staff were extremely helpful, but the GM Abdalla was keen to engage with the guests each morning at breakfast and as he walked around the grounds. He was very open to feedback, honest in his approach. His knowledge of opening hotels is evident. We will definitely return. Thanks BayWater!

If you want some peace and quiet gateway ”

Everything is good if you are looking for some peace and quiet gateway. This resort is far from all the happening bars and pubs, but there have one local pub which is happening, mostly local. They play good music. There also some good restaurants and massage places on the main road, just before turning to the resort, all within 800 meters, which I believe is near. As I drove here, so for me not much of the issue stay away from the happening area. The room is very big, just that you need to walk uphill to your room. As this is not a hotel so lift, you might need to carry your stuff up and down. Aircon is cool, hot water is hot, the view is good, the staff are nice. As the room comes with BF, they have 9 ways of making your BF eggs. I enjoy my BF and coffee is good. every to me is good, if you want a Gateway, place come here. I rest well here.

It was best before.”

I stayed in BayWater resort before and I had good memory from here, so this time I chose this resort again. I understand that keeping high quality is not easy, however, it should remain high especially in pre-opening period. The room was clean, but there was intermittent bad smell from water draining outlet in restroom. Bed and pillows was very comfortable. Breakfast was good but it was best before. Overall, staying in this hotel is a good choice for couples but please note that the beach is on the other side of the road and there is another hotel between. However, the beach is good for enjoying sunrise.

Be aware of ongoing construction work”

We booked this resort following glowing reviews on this and other popular websites. Other reviews mentioned construction work but stated it was not noisy or a problem when staying here and we could not find one single negative review so we booked. Unfortunately this was not our experience as the room we were given was directly adjacent to the ongoing construction of a three storey block. we had an outdoor deck and direct access to a shared small pool and we were close enough to the construction workers to have a conversation if we wished. The noise of banging, angle grinding and general construction noise continued throughout the day and into the evening (this was a Sunday too). This rendered the deck and pool area of our room practically unusable due to the noise disturbance but these areas were also heavily overlooked by the construction workers so overall, the outdoor part of our room was not peaceful and private as we expected it to be. We told staff that we were not happy within a few minutes of being in the room and we were moved the next day the same class of room on the opposite side of the resort. This meant we had no noise or overlooking issues from the construction. as some sort of compensation we were given a bowl containing mini bananas and an orange. Both the rooms we stayed in had a bad odour in the bathrooms, I guess this is due to drainage/warm weather as we were on the ground floor and this may well be an Issue in this part of the world on the whole. Overall as other reviewers have said the resort is well located, new and clean. The main pool is great and the staff are very nice and helpful but I wanted other potential customers to know that there are a number of rooms close to construction work that in our opinion is not acceptable.

Wonderful pool, surrounding a central Island which converts to a movie cinema at night, or somewhere for candlelit dining. Food is amazing, with extremely reasonable prices, wonderful balance of flavours, good selection and beautiful presentation. Rooms are large, well appointed, beds luxurious. Fitness centre is good, and possible to get a solid workout in. Staff are wonderful. Always smiling and in a wonderful mood. Stay here, it will be the highlight of tour trip, guaranteed.

For the price no complaints. The resort is situated in a quiet location. Nightlife is not as frenetic as day Chaweng. Saw lots of families with small children here. Booked the room when the hotel had a great offer ie last minute- I think they just wanted to fill up the rooms!

Does not get much better than this”

An absolute pleasure to stay here, everything has been thought of to make your stay comfortable, i travel extensively around Thailand and Asia and this is one of the finest resort hotels in its class, brand new and well laid out and interaction with the resort manager is something you find very little of nowadays. This will remain on my list of "go too" hotels and i recommended you try for yourself.

Wonderful hotel with fantastic staff”

My wife and I stayed for 8 nights at the beginning of April with our two young children. The staff were extremely friendly and made a point of remembering the names of our children. They were all very accommodating and keen to please. The deluxe pool access room was superb. The room was huge, despite an extra bed and a cot being required for our children. The pool which was accessed from our room was wonderful. The food and drink were very good and reasonably priced. Overall the staff and the hotel made an extremely positive impression on us and we would not hesitate to return.

A little away from the happening areas of Koh Samui. So if you are not renting a car then you'll end up spending a decent amount in taxi. Staff have trouble in communicating in English - but otherwise a great place to stay. Very relaxing!!

Nice clean large rooms with a great swimmming pool area.”

If you can land an Agoda deal this is a great place to stay. Large rooms with a balcony and king size bed. Bathrooms are large too. Breakfast was satisfactory . A 7 minute walk to the beach with local eateries a plenty within walking distance. Staff was helpful,and friendly. When not on sale prices are in the 4000 to 5000 baht per night so look for an agoda deal. Drawbacks: no lift for anyone who is physically challenged or disabled.3 rd floor rooms had low water pressure , no hot water for 2days, then a fulll day of no water for about 8 hrs. Nonetheless I still booked 3 additional nights because everything else was splendid.

Very good 2weeks ”

Don’t take any notice of the bad reviews. We had a great holiday here, considering the weather, the pool is large and kept clean. Linen was changed every day and bedding 2 to 3 days, the room was cleaned very well. Only a few minutes to the beach and 5 minutes to many restaurants. Mr Eung was good and so was Mother’s . Would recommend this hotel.

for the price the place was perfect, helpfull staff at any time of the day”

We had the pool villa which was perfect. 5 minute walk from the beach where you can eat, chill or even hire jetskis. Walking distance to restaurants and 7/11. A littler further out from town about 10 minutes but you can bargain taxis down just like anywhere in thailand. Definitely recommend this place especially for the price you pay!

Nice resort within distance from airport”

Pros: The hotel is nice, we had a room with a pool which was very good. Rooms were very clean, spacious, comfortable and nice. Swimming pool was nice and beautiful sandbeach was less than 5mn walking. Breakfast was OK. Cons: Compared to the other side of the island the taxi offered by hotel was a little too expensive. A/C was a bit noisy. Overall Good value for money, nice resort with helpful staff.

O.k hotel”

We were in 3 hotels on the island so far, baywater is a nice hotel, has very big rooms and balconies, the receptionists welcomed us with a big smile and a golf cart took us to the room. But, the gym is not well sustained, the shower in the room had a weak stream and didn't drain the right way, the kitchen is not clean enough, had one fan and didn't have signs with the name of dishes so we had to guess.

Mostly what stood out were the people at the hotel serving us breakfast and also taking care of room etc. The manager of the kitchen and it’s staff were wonderful. The surroundings are quite peaceful. Although the hotel is not right on the beach access to the beach was quick and easy. Maybe a 5 minute walk. We loved our stay and would go back

Stayed here for one night before heading for flight. Room was stunning and the private dip pool amazing. Ate evening meal locally nice place along the beach (10 min walk) as had problems getting local taxi to understand but perhaps this is the sort of area where you don't need to leave the hotel (breakfast i was spoilt for choice) or you use the official hotel taxis come here for a relaxing break

Though the hotel is located not on the beach, the sea is just in 5 mins. Staff is very nice and attentive, our room was upgraded to villa with pool access, the pool is small and not very clean, but anyway it was really nice stay. The food is good, breakfasts are fantastic.
