"The hotel location is in the middle of the shopping area with lots of designer shops e.g. Hermes, Chanel, Ferregamo, Prada etc. It also closes to Champs Elysees and Lourve. The staff are friendly. However, the hotel is quite old. The bedroom size is fine. The elevator is rather small. It fits for only 5 people at a time."

"We were last minute booking for this hotel. When we checkin at the hotel, the receptionist told us there was system error and no room available for us. Therefore, we are transferred to Best Western Secret Champs Elysee Hotel. The receptionist reserved a taxi for us for this transit and the hotel paid the taxi fee. Good arrangement and the whole process didn't take us long time. We will recommend Best Western hotels to travellers to Paris."

"Delighted to share the experience of one of the very good properties in prime location of Paris, Hotel Balzac. With just couple of minutes of action, it was an excellent location, where one never missed any action in the heart of Paris, Champs Elysees. Our room was comfortable and quite clean. Staff was very cordial and prompt in their service. It was a good breakfast but the breakfast space was something that can be worked on as it is a small place right next to reception, which would be better if expanded. It was just a two-three minutes walk from the metro station and well connected to the entire town. Overall, a very good experience and would totally recommend it to all looking to stay in the heart of Paris."

"The hotel was really well located for all the major tourist attractions and right in the centre of the Champs Elysees. We didn't eat in the hotel as Paris has so many wonderful places to dine but the bar and restaurant looked very nice and modern. on the same street is a cafe called the Victoria with free wifi, a wonderful menu and great wine which is a must try. The rooms were basic but comfortable with a wonderful view from the street facing balcony. The staff were amazing!! spoke fantastic English, were always willing to help and give advice to us. It was like going back in time with a manual credit card swipe machine and the old fashioned lifts but our stay was made very simple and warm by this aging hotels comfortbale, traditional feel and good old fashined service from start to finish."

"Stayed in this hotel to enjoy the countdown to 2018. On the eve to new year's day, security was everywhere and the metro doesn't stop on the stations along Champs Elysee. this can be understood. SO we had to walk quite a distance back to the hotel. Upon reaching the hotel, nobody was there to open the door, and we were really tired and sweaty from the walk. Finally the receptionist came to open the door for us to get in. I was looking forward to a warm shower. BUT THERE WAS NO HOT WATER!!! The water was freezing COLD and its really not possible to shower. I called the front desk only to be told not to shower if its too cold. I informed him that this is the second day I would going without shower as there was no hot water even the day before. (First night i put up) He then said he would get someone to fix the problem, but gave no commitment if the issue would be resolved. I tried to get a commitment from him but he didn't. This is the worst place. Total lack of basic amenity! "

"We had a pleasant stay. Good location, 10 minutes walk to Champ Elysees, many restaurant nearby, friendly&helpful staff. We booked Deluxe Double Room (blue theme) with balcony and it was quite spacious for three of us. Balcony had a lovely view to the city. Elevator a bit slow. Would come back. "

"For our first trip to Paris I wanted to stay at a hotel that was both modern but still had the true Parisian feel to it. Hotel Alfred Sommier was the perfect hotel for us! Friendly staff greeted us as we entered (including an adorable puppy!). Our room was beautiful and clean, even the bathrooms were spectacular. Room service was very kind and did the best job I have ever seen at any hotel. I am so happy we found this gem in Paris. We will definitely be staying here every time we visit! "

"We had a really good stay at this place. We were just 3 mins walk from Champs-Elysee. There were lots of eating places - both cheap and expensive. There was a nice cheap Italian restaurant nearby and a few Doner kebab places. The rooms was of the old Empire-style decor which i really liked. Marianne - the receptionist was so, so helpful and her English was perfect in a place where speaking English is not too welcome. Place was quiet. Although you can hear neighbours on top walking as the floor is creaky but this was infrequent. Breakfast was simple but filling - there was not too much variety but i don't usually eat a heavy breakfast. We had two rooms - a double room and a family room. The double room had a spacious toilet. Funnily enough, the family room although large had a small toilet. It was rectangular and long so the toilet and the bathtub was squashed at one end. A large person would find it difficult to sit on the toilet. The elevator was small as usual but we expected that in a old hotel. "
