lovely little place”
First off, if you're expecting first-world amenities, then you'd better off staying at the villas by the main street. However, if you're willing to step out of your comfort zone and embrace the local culture, then this is a very special place. Norman and the boys at Banana leaf are genuine, friendly, and wonderful hosts. They attended to my each and every need. When I was sad, they made me laugh. When I was hungry, they cooked a meal for me. When I was thirsty, they were always ready with a cold Bintang. When I wanted to have a good time, the crew at Banana Leaf certainly know how to show visitors a great time. I'll never forget my stay at Banana Leaf, even when we moved to one of the villas, I ended up spending most of my night back at Banana Leaf with them. Thank you Norman, Abdul, Adi and everyone else for making me feel at home and for making the world a better place, one smile at a time. I'll definitely be back :)

Banana leaf hotel in gili terawangan was very good,im happy to stay there and the staff very nicely,the room also clean,and very near to harbour so it's important.. And very value money,I'll stay in banana leaf again when im back to gili.. Will be miss this hotel...

Well located bungalows with friendly staff.”
We stayed in an air conditioned lumbung and had a great stay. Banana leaf is set a few minutes back from the main beach front which is ideal for escaping the action (and noise). The guys that work there are all extremely friendly and were a pleasure to deal with. If we asked them to tidy the room and change the bedding, they got straight on it. They also brought breakfast over to the balcony every morning - the coffee was some of the best we've had in Indonesia and the omelettes and pancakes were decent enough. We paid just under £20 per night and at this rate I would happily stay here again.

Friendly Staff”
Actually the real Hotel name is "Banana Leaf Homestay", because in the island there is another Banana Homestay, we get confused and couldn't find the hotel in the beginning. The location is not closed to the harbor, so on the first day, you'd better hire a horse wagon to get there. Yes, there is no taxi or car in Gili. The room and bed was big, the complimentary breakfast was simple (toast with egg and coffee), they only had cold water, and they haven't got WIFI. Before we left, we suggested them to set up WIFI, I hope it is coming soon. Nothing much to complain, because what you get is equal to what you paid. And their 9 rooms were totally occupied during our stay, seemed quite popular.

Best bungalow on Gili Trawangan, hands down. The staff make you feel at home, relaxed and part of their family. Breakfast served to you every morning (to your room even if you want), and the rooms are comfortable. The staff help to create such a chill environment so it is easy to make friends with everyone staying there too. Already can't wait till we go back. "Everyday is Sunday" is their motto =)

nice traditional lombok homestay”
this homestay is well known for many tourist specially for american or european backpackers because i have found many american stay there..the price is convinient for backpackers, i stayed in the ac bungalow and those design is very unique, traditional lombok house, quite clean, very comfort mattress ( you can sleep so well and it maybe take for long hours sleep hahaa ), and the bathroom is so big with open roof and fresh air. located in the middle of the island, not far from the beach or many tourist attractions ( actually because this island is quite small ). their staff was so friendly and nice, they very helpful and tried to keep in touch with their guest.

Amazing staff, Norman and the team are great! They make you feel welcome from the minute you arrive. Don't be afraid to sit at the bar and chat to them. The room was clean and spacious. Fantastic value for the money that you pay. Highly recommend you stay here as it is far enough away from the busy night life to get a good nights sleep and less than a 5 minute walk to get stuck into the action. We will defiantly be returning!

Good Value, Good Location Good Staff”
It's run by a bunch of young guys who are all very friendly, cheerful, trustworthy and keen to please. The bog-standard island breakfast of coffee, juice and omelette was actually very good and tasty. The wi-fi was fine. Room is clean and tidy - the guys won;t enter your room to clean during your stay unless you ask them to clean and change bedding, in which case they jump to it with good cheer. It's a relaxed budget atmosphere, the bar's nice and they sometimes go out fishing and come back with a big catch which they hope as many residents with join in with eating BBQ style around the bar in the evening. It's a 4 minute walk to beach. Very nice place.. Oh the shower has hot water. Everything worked.

disappointing”
well not that it was our or their fault. there is a hotel called banana homestay a short walk down the road. don't get confused. as we did we went to the wrong hotel for our first night. when looking back on agoda we thought something isn't right. we continued looking the next day for the bungalow and found it. was confusing and the safe we're not friendly at all and were rude to not just us but another couple staying with them. nice place but wouldn't not stay with the property again until new management.

Norman took amazing care of us and went out of his way to make sure we felt at home. The location was great - right off the main strip. The room itself was spacious but bathroom could be cleaner.

Alright but overpriced ”
Good location, but overpriced for what you find on island. Away from the main strip so good on low noise. Not very social setting, staff are alright but not much attention to detail. I had deluxe room. Two twins pushed together was the double. Two sets of sheets.. One pair was dirty. Bathroom was far below par, leaking sink and toilet. Water pressure was alright. NB. When I asked what was the price of I wanted to extend, they first said same price as I paid online. Then I asked what is normal price, and was quoted 40% less than what I paid on agoda. Unless you are going at peak season, so many hotles, easy to get off boat and find something or just book one night and move.

Excellent team running this place”
Great staff and the cats we loved. Stayed there for a couple of nights and it had a great atmosphere. The rooms are a bit basic but its not expensive. Main problem was that on a party island we couldnt lock our room doors as they were sliding glass doors that just moved whether locked or not. But did i mention the cats?? 😁😁
