Second stay... Still not disappointed.”

I've now stayed at Asian Ruby Boutique twice. Don't confuse the name with the other Asian Ruby hotels in HCMC, as I've only stayed at the "Boutique" and can only speak for my experiences there. I continue to be impressed by the hotel. It's very clean, the rooms are fresh and new, so you won't feel like you're staying in an ancient place. Rooms are large and quiet. Both of my stays were in rooms facing the street. Thick glass helps minimize noise from outside, though when compared with many streets in HCMC, this is a relatively quiet street. If it were up to me, I would really only improve two things: 1) Make two bottled waters complimentary and 2) Improve the breakfast selection a bit. Another upshot of the location is a decent restaurant just across the street...and it's not far from many other eateries. There's a Circle K within about 30 seconds walking distance of the hotel, so you can easily stock up on drinks and snacks. I'm an American living and working in Vietnam. I occasionally need take trips into HCMC for work and fun and I've stayed in many hotels in Vietnam. No matter where you are from, you should be comfortable staying at Asian Ruby Boutique.

3rd Stay”

I've now stayed at Asian Ruby Boutique for my third time. So far, the experience has been the same. Nice, modern, clean, quiet hotel in a perfect location. I haven't stayed at any of the other Asian Ruby hotels, only the Boutique, so I can't speak for the other locations. The only thing I would change is for more items to be on the breakfast buffet, though I think they will whip something up for you if you ask. I live and work in Vietnam and occasionally stay overnight in HCMC. This is a nice place to relax and snooze. Highly recommended.

Quiet, Comfortable walking distance to nice Park”

Very enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and was always available for assistance. Centrally located within walking distance to new Starbucks Coffee and two Parks. If looking for a job in Ho Chi Minh City the Vietnamworks and Navigossearch office is only one block from Hotel. The daily buffet breakfast was good and food manager was always teaching me some new Vietnamese each day.

Good location and comfortable room”

I basically walked everywhere from my hotel - to the night market (20 mins), backpackers area for bar hopping (20 mins), War museum (15 minutes) & Chinatown District 5 (30 mins). 30 minutes taxi to the hotel. Room is comfortable. Bed were large and comfortable as well. Do note that you will need to cross over to the Mayflower hotel for breakfast which is situated beside Asian Ruby. Overall a good stay.

Perfect stop gap in a manic city”

After travelling from langkawi through Kuala Lumpur (Chinatown) ditching our bags for backpacks to be greeted by the staff at the mayflower was wonderful a little bit if luxury for a little price. There had been slight confusion with our reservation and were overbooked,they upgraded us for a superior to a deluxe with no problem immediately. The man at reception, unfortunately I do not know his name, was genuinely polite and attentive as were all the staff however he was a great help and spoke brilliant english as it was our first visit to vietnam he gave us a lot of good advice and recommended areas suited to us with directions. Our room was lovely, first comfortable bed and pillows in Asia and we had a large bathroom with a bath and shower, heaven. Good location within walking distance of everything needed that's if you can get across any road in saigon! So many bikes. Perfect hotel to retreat to after a day out in this crazy city.

This hotel is located behind of Nguyen Trai road. (Bui thi Xuan) This area also among a city area though traveler does not know well. And this hotel is a new hotel so, all equipemnts in there are fresh & a good condition now. Thus, this time is under 50% promotion duration. Don't miss this chance. Because it is very hard to find this condition hotel in Hochiminh with this price.

Plenty of room for improvement ”

Breakfast at the Mayflower 2 was an experience in patience and a good example of how the lack of proper training of staff can torpedo your business.  The young girl running the breakfast was completely inadequate for the job.  In her defense, I did request lemon for my tea and she did get it three days later after I finished breakfast.  I felt oblige to sit down and used it.   This morning out of the five steam trays, two where empty, one had 2 eggs but they where cold because the unit was turned off.  Of the 3 juice dispensers, two where empty.  There was no bread.  Three plates of fruit with 5 bananas, 1 piece of watermelon and 1 piece of papaya.  I requested 1 hot egg and waited.  She regularly walked by the steam trays and felt them but you can't see if they are empty until you lift the lid.   There was a great deal of laughter and conversation from the back room but no egg.  Fifteen minutes later, a Vietnamese gentlemen walked in and asked for two eggs and she ran to the back.  She returned with his two eggs immediately and I reminded her that I was still waiting for my 1 egg.  My egg arrived and she went to the water dispenser to get water for herself and dropped the glass.  The cook heard this and arrived with a broom and dustpan.   I really feel sorry for her.  This is a management problem and a complete lack of leadership.  Please understand that I was always as pleasant as possible with this young girl.   At the front desk I asked or a comment or suggestion form.  They had never heard of this.  I replied, "how do you get feedback from customers?  How do you know if you are doing a good job?  Again, management get to work!  For the record, the bellman, housekeeping, and front desk where exceptional.  With special kudos to the bellman that helped me get up and down the stairs with my cane.

Best Hotel in Vietnam”

This hotel was very nice to spend our entire December holiday. There's a lady by the name of Ann who was very friendly and assisted us with everything we needed.We will consider going back to Ho CHi Minh City and spend our nights there. Great Location, Great facilities, Great atmosphere around the hotel in December.

Resonable price at strategic location”

The hotel is situated 10 mins walking distance from the main attraction. Staff were very friendly and room are very clean. We have no issue in check in and check out. The hotel does not provide bfast thus we are not sure about the food quality. There are many local food around the restaurants. If you are adventurous on food, it would be a very great location for food. There are two Mayflowers hotel next to each other. The one we booked were Mayflower2. should reflect it as we got into shock thinking we went to wrong hotel only to know was next building. Just 10 seconds away. Hotel will leave a pair of great sandal for usage. It was comfortable and we used it throughout the trip. when check out, we were all wearing the sandals only to be noticed if we wish to take out the sandals, it will cost USD3. Laundry bag will cost USD10. We just returned the used sandals to hotel. A rather wired policy. Overall I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Good located, large bed, good internet”

Good located, large bed, good internet. Good hotel but the staff at the reception good be a bit more friendly. I have had much better experiences concerning the reception of the hotels in Ho Chi Minh. It is also a bit noisy.

Value for money but”

Value for money but little things can be improved Eg 1) Safe not working 2) Door bell not working Informed reception desk that safe is not working. Personnel come immediately. After 10 minutes of fiddling with the safe, informed us that the safe is not working. And that's the end of the whole process. So we are left with no safe to use. Wife asked to change room coz it is near to lift. Reception desk promised to look into it the next day. And that is the last we heard about this. So ended up staying in the same room for 2 days. Overall, despite these small irregularities, still a cozy and value for money hotel to stay. Has been staying in this hotel last year 2014 and this year 2015.

Good location, Decent Value for Money”

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Mayflower. The hotel is reasonably priced for what you get and the buffet breakfasts were filling. The staff is friendly and helpful at the reception desk. My only issue with my stay was that the power went out on my floor a couple times, but they fixed it quickly enough so it wasn't such a big deal. The place is close to a park and some other attractions are nearby. It isn't right in the backpacker area -- but is a close 10 minute walk to there if you still want to check it out. Quiet and comfortable.

Superb and value for money”

Excellent is all i can say about this hotel. It was a 3 star hotel with 5 star bedroom. It had just recently renovated so all the things inside the room was brand new and clean. it is centrally located within the city so dining is absolutely no problem. With 24 hour convenience store nearby you can get personal care, junk foods, drink easily. highly recommended and definitely i will come again

A very pleasant surprise”

I live and work in Vietnam about an hour out if HCMC. I occasionally need to stay in town overnight either to visit or for work. My regular hotel was already fully booked. Although I spent about $10 extra, I really think the stay was worth it. . Firstly, our room was very clean and appeared to be a fresh remodel. It wasn't like a lot of VN hotels, which appear to be held together with duct tape and glue. The whole room had a cohesive theme with wood veneer floors, nice furniture, wood crown molding around the ceiling and a nicely tiled bathroom with a large mirror in a very nic carved wooden frame. Our window, which faced the street, had solid dool pane glass to insulate against the street noise below. The bed was similar to a western-style inner spring. Firm, but not too firm--just right. The included breakfast consisted of sausages, rice, meatballs, noodles, toast and fresh fruit. Pleasant and overall light. Beautiful park just at the end of the street. Great stay!

Pretty Disappointed”

Having been to Hanoi and staying in other hotels, I have very high expectation of hotels in Ho Chi Minh too. However Mayflower did not impress. If you just need somewhere clean and quiet to stay, this will do. But generally the staff lacks the personal touch of Hanoi and the I'm not sure why they never replenish our complimentary bottles of water after day 1; in fact they took away the tea bags too.

Friendly staff and clean room ”

excellent room with friendly and helpful staff that cater to all my request. Especially the room service, thanks to the helpful cleaner that always put on a smile when making the room. I would highly recommmend the stay in mayflower saigon hotel. This is my 3rd time staying in this hotel and its great and a good bargain for the price. Thou the shower on the higher floors is not stable (hot/cold). And the breakfast is pretty hard to consume . (Literally) Other than that the stay is really worth the price and would definitely recommend it .

Very friendly staff”

I have now stayed at the Mayflower three times for short business trips. I keep on coming back as I find the deal is as promoted and good for the price and I like the location. For me the rooms are as expected, comfortable and clean. The staff are one of the best things about this hotel. Always so friendly and helpful, from the door staff to reception, restaurant and cleaning. Breakfast is always sufficient with a good choice. The staff at breakfast are always so helpful and friendly, especially the manager who is always checking you have what you need. I was sad this time to hear that ) has left as he was always so happy and smiley and wanting to practise his English. He made the best omelettes too. The only thing that I think is missing for me is to have somewhere to sit and have coffee and work on laptop. The wifi is brilliant here throughout the hotel. Thank you to all the staff for always making my stay comfortable.

It was a good stay”

The stay was excellent. from Check in with Friendly and helpful staffs to assist our needs, to the clean room that has extra pillows unlike most other hotel. The location is great and the Internet Wifi is very good. With the room rate, it is definitely worth the price and i will certainly return to stay here in future.
