Very recently famous Spanish DJ Albert Neve from Barcelona went there to kick off his Asian Tour from there – this guy really awesome :) For ‘Full Moon Party’ one can get all sorts of info and tickets from tour desk ‘ISLAND INFO’ at right side of reception area at ARK. There is one road named ‘Soi Mango’ which is just a very tiny version of famous ‘Walking Street of Pattaya’. Club Green Mango is the option to hit first up-to 03 AM but after party i.e. ‘Sound Club’ really best and it rocks (huge freelancers :). Party, loud, beach, fun”

Ark Bar Beach Resort definitely lives up to the 'bar' in its name. Having 3 bars, two restaurants and 3 pools, it hosts a beach party from 2pm to 2am every night, with wednesday and friday being the biggest. If you want relaxation and quiet, don't come here. I enjoyed my stay immensley here though, despite the fact i had no interest in bars or partying. It was interesting watching the people who did though from the relaxing water. Around this time, Koh Samui is packed. It is a popular destination and good restaurants, and really good shopping (those interested in leather bags, shop in the stores here rather than MBK). Ark Bar is centrally located making it super easy to get anywhere you want to go. I would recommend a stay here if you either want to have a great time with friends, or do not mind a dull thumping of base while you try to sleep (light sleepers i suggest you ask for a room closest to the street). The laundry service was great (2$ per kilo and if you got it in before 9am you had it by 6pm same day). Koh Samui is fun, and Ark Bar lets you enjoy it to the full.

Great hotel for party”

We stayed at Ark Bar Beach Resort, Chaweng for two days, since we went to Koh Samui for our anniversary, we remarked in our special request while we made the booking through Agoda, and unexpectedly they did prepare a room which was very closed to the beach and have an angle of the sea view from our balcony as well as a beautiful swan setting on our bed. As many said, this is the resort for young peoples especially who loves party and nightlife, this absolutely the perfect place. Besides I've seen many reviews said the place is noisy everyday until 2 am midnight and full with drunker especially after the party, but we both didn't have any problem with that, we slept around 12am every night and it didn't seem that horrible as they said although our room was very closed to the beach, we could barely hear the music beats at the beachside from our room since the sound-proofing system of the glasses of sliding door was pretty effective, besides our room was at the second floor and we were staying on Monday & Tuesday, the party is held every Wed & Sat, therefore we don't know how's the situation and difference between the party night and normal day, perhaps it's not much different. Overall the resort was great, just a walking distance from hotel to the night market, shops, restaurants, nightlife entertainments and many more. We love the hotel.

"Awesome Ark Bar"”

This is my second time visited Ark Bar, overall still very much like this hotel. Strategic location, 7-11 at walking distance, delicious foods around especially i like very much of street foods. Cozy atmosphere, comfortable room, just a little bit irritated with adjusting hot shower, but overall still bearable. Entertaining fire show, dancing and definitely awesome DJ. Of course Chaweng Beach the most happening beach in Koh Samui, you definitely can go to other bar nearby. Unforgettable drinking beer at Ark Bar swimming pool. Hotel staffs are friendly, greet you with their sweet smile.

The best place to Stay in Koh Samui, Thailand ”

Ark bar beach resort is an absolute place to be. beautiful beach location, 10 minutes drive from the airport, Good staff, beach party starts from 2 pm till 2 am, decent breakfast if u take room with breakfast. well located in between the posh market of Chawang beach to take a walk n see the market, have food or time pass... if I come to Koh Samui, then this hotel will be my first preference again... we were there for 6 nights n we didn't realize when it got over... for the complementary pick up or drop if u have it at the time of booking, try to place the request the say u check-in... cos they might get booking request for the same time n u might not get it...i got it because we requested on the day we checked in...its a must go hotel...

Cozy room in Chaweng Beach!”

this is our trip to koh samui. via agoda we booked this hotel, and we got ark bar 2 in our reservation. and we're so lucky we've got #221, second floor and facing one of three swimming pools in this hotel. both of us are smokers, and of course this is a non smoking hotel (which actually is good)..but since every room in this hotel has either a terrace or a balcony to smoke..so we're just so luck to get this hotel. the room is cozy with all 'standart' facilities (plasma tv, refrigerator/mini bar, hot and cold shower), separate pool towels. and another thing is.. chaweng beach it's their front yard, if i may say. and with only a few step to chaweng busy road to exchange money, atms, restaurants/cafes and shopping.

Wouldn't stay anywhere else”

Our stay at Ark Bar was amazing! It was recommended to us by friends who had stayed here, if you are heading to Koh Samui to party, don't book anything else. The First night we arrived there was a beach party on, which was real fun (Don't try and sleep before 2am though, because the music and party don't stop until then.) The Restaurant walks straight on to the sand, and breakfast is included, guests are given five options to customize their own big breakfasts which are delicious(the poached eggs were devine.) We were able to hire motobikes directly from the hotel, the resort is located perfectly for other aspects of night life, shopping and eating. We hired a driver who took us to the waterfall for 2 hours we toured around in an amzing car for 1000bath (there was 6 of us.) Our rooms air-con wasnt working properly and when i informed reception they said they would call out a technician but due to this they instantly moved us to another room and upgraded us from surperior to deluxe due to the inconveniance. I cannot speak higher of this resort and i would not recommend staying anywhere else especially if you like to party :)

Great location, fantastic Staff”

Having spent 4 days in Lamai we decided to spend the last 3 nights of our Koh Samui holiday at Chaweng Beach & wish we’d have spent all the holiday here. Ark resort is a modern low rise hotel complete with beautiful rooms at a very reasonable price, 3 swimming pools & a big bar area with a wide selection of western & Thai food. Syracuse are a joy to interact with, will definitely stay here again on our next Koh Samui holiday & have recommended same to my friends.

Soo much better than expected”

we booked in at the ark bar as many others from a wedding we were attending were staying there. we were apprehensive and contemplated staying further out of chaweng as busy tourist towns with drunken foreigners aren't our thing. i had read reviews saying it was too loud and lots of parting etc. we were pleasantly surprised as the place was a lot cleaner than we expected and the staff were amazing, always happy and helpful and so many of them! breakfast was great you get to chose 5 items off a large list. we booked a delux room and it was great, clean and spacious enough. i think the standard rooms are not so great. the bar area does have dance music playing all the time and on wednesday they have it very loud all day as it is party night, they also have a free bbq at 4om which is great. out the front you can rent a motorbike for 150 baht which is the cheapest we have found anywhere. we were in room 112 and the music did not bother us at all at night as the bar is on the beach and the speakers face the ocean. i will never go to samui again but if you do then this place is great value and is close to everything. if you are a stick in the mud and dont like music or people then go stay at a secluded beach elsewhere.

Great hostel, great location, great rooms”

this was the perfect hotel to stay in koh samui. it is perfectly located in chaweng beach at one of the most popular drinking spots-ark bar right on the beach. i stayed in the hotel 3 years ago before it was renovated and it has certainly improved. the rooms are big and clean with a balcony, tv and dvd player. the staff are friendly and there is a laundry service onsite as well as free wi-fi. i would definitely stay here again. important to note that it is a loud area being near the main bar so it's good for those looking for a party. pool area is good too. the only downside is that drinks and food are quite expensive.

Great place to stay!”

I stayed in Ark Bar Beach Resort in Koh Samui for 5 days. I had a great time in spite of the age difference between me and the majority of the population there. The food was good, nice cold beer at the bar, always a good atmosphere, very lively. The only negative point is that in the junior suites, (especially Jewish) people tend to stay all night on their terrace, drinking from their own bottles, playing music, screaming and shouting, clapping hands from about 5 in the afternoon till (sometimes) 6 in the morning. So in order to get some sleep you have to turn on the airco on the highest mode, which is very cold, so I slept with my coat on the whole week and still I caught a cold. Apart from that it was perfect.

Amazing Hotel - great location great rooms”

this is a wonderful hotel . i have stayed here beofer and constantly recomend it to friends travelling to koh samui. it is full of people my age so is perfect for solo travellers, also it is handy having wi fi and a restaurant by the beach plus the beach within wlking distance. i ate most of my meals at the resort retaurant. i also liked that it was close to the main nightlife. the three pools was a nice option too as wel as been able to eat meals on the tables on the beach. i actually stayed at a more lavish resort up the road and paid for 3 nights but didnt enjoy it and only spent one night there, so came back to ark bar and paid cash for the room.

18-25 don't stay anywhere else. This is the place you want!”

Booked 4 nights. Then booked an extra then came back for another! Couldn't stay away from the place. Thought we'd booked somewhere different for one night and big mistake. So left after 5 minutes at other hotel to return here. Staff very friendly and willing to help. Big shout out to Pat, lovely lady. 3 pools available. Main pool I found the best but was shut for maintenance for a couple days but happy to use other pools. Very modern and clean hotel. No faults at all! Location right on the beach. As mentioned I recommend this hotel for the younger or those who don't mind music playing all day in the background and a good beach party on Wednesday and Friday's. If I was to return to koh samui. I would be booking here straight away. Trust me on this one! Food was also lovely, maybe a tiny bit more than those elsewhere but good quality and for us was perfect. Bit cheaper than English prices for English food. ARK BAR ALL THE WAY

Lively resort on the beach- great in the evenings ”

We booked a superior room- but it wasn't. It was small, with a very, very old bathroom which was nothing like the pictures on the website and the only outdoor space was a small slab of concrete out the front which is a walkway for hotel guests.we asked to look at a deluxe- which was much more what the pictures of a superior looked like. We also asked to look at a junior suite and this was basically what all the website pictures are of- so we upgraded for 600 baht a night. Disappointing as this was our second from last stop after 6 other places and its one of 2 which had pictures of the better rooms parading as pictures of the cheaper rooms we had booked. Once in out junior suite, we had a lovely balcony, near the pool, beach and restaurant. You can hear the loud music all night to be honest as it is a party resort- so if you're going there to relax- don't! If you're there to party- great. It's really near the Main Street with lots of restaurant and bars. Very near the party bars green mango&reaggae, and right by the lady boy cabarets& Thai boxing ring! Everyone we met outside the resort had or was heading to Ark bar for a night out! It was a great place to stay, very sociable. The one thing I will mention is that a very well known job for Thai girls is very, very visible in this resort, morning, noon and night! So if you'd ather not see this side of Thailand- keep your eyes shut or stay in a less party orientated place- you really couldn't avoid seeing it! My review scores are for the room we stayed in- not the one we originally booked!

Great Location and Party Atmosphere”

I first visited the Ark Bar for the day while staying at another 5 star hotel. I liked the hotel so much I actually left my other hotel (prepaid) and booked a room at the Ark Bar. The restaurant has a wide selection of food and is priced cheap and it taste GREAT! The hotel has an amazing pool and beach with a DJ playing along with Saxophone and Drums on some nights. there is tons of people and the drinks are flowing. Its a great atmosphere. If you are old and don't care for crowds and loud music, then DONT STAY HERE! There is loud music playing until 2AM every day and people walking up and down the property to come and go to the beach parties. The sound system easily pierces through the windows of your room. I don't mind the music and I love the atmosphere, so for me it was fine. The hotel room is a 3 star hotel. The bed is comfortable, and they are VERY STINGY with sheets and TOWELS! If you expect to get an extra towel, FORGET IT! I was at the pool whern I was eating and there was a spot flood shower. After I finished eating I brought my wet towel to them to change and they told me "Sorry Sir it's one towel per guest per day". I couldn't believe my ears. I was a guest at the hotel and they won't even change my towel?? It upset me actually and I wanted to post it here. Also for some reason the WIFI is guarded like Ft knox. They change the passwords every day and getting it from the staff on the phone is impossible as their English is not the greatest. Each time I called, I was forced to walk all the way to the front desk to get the new passwords. They need to ease up with the WIFI and perhaps just use your room number and last name, that is what most hotels do. Its just WIFI! Back to my review. I ate dinner on the beach and it was amazing. The BBQ Fish was awesome and drinks by the beach watching the fire show was PERFECTION. So this hotel has great benefits and I guess they out weight the few stupid drawbacks.

Good if you want 24hr party”

Ark Bar is very well known around the island, and friends of mine who had been to Koh Samui all recognized the name. Pros: You get a great value for your money my room was large, clean, had a super comfortable bed and nice patio. The shower worked very well, and was only annoying since water would splash around the bathroom (this seems to be the norm in Thailand). The staff was very friendly, and Ark Bar is also centrally located. Cons: If you're looking for a relaxing beach vacation, don't stay at Ark Bar. Electronic music is blasting all day round from the speakers on the beach, to the point where you can only have a conversation by shouting to the person next to you. You also hear the beat if you try sleeping anytime before 2am. After 2am, it will just be noisy people outside your window. The beachfront is extremely crowded. While I was reading, I was distracted by thumping music, vendors constantly asking me if I wanted stuff, airplanes flying overhead, people on megaphones advertising parties, construction noises nearby, music coming out of other people's phones, etc etc. On the other hand, my friends who would wake up at 3pm and sleep at 7am and never hit the beach enjoyed Ark Bar. So it depends on the type of trip you're looking for.

Great place to stay for a group of friends”

We stayed here while back with a group of friends who had never been to Samui before. The Ark Bar is a great place to stay becasue the centrality of its locations means you are amongst everything that goes on. The actual rooms were modern, clean and quiet (if loacted nearer to the road). Having said that, I never found the noise from the beach bar to be too bad. The bar is brilliant; a relaxed, chilled atmosphere during the day which can heat up after dark. The music is no too 'hardcore', infact during the day it helps the relaxed ambience. The food at the bar, while little more pricey than other hotel restaraunts, is good quality with an extensive range. The swimming pools are a good size, although the original swimming pool in the old part of the resort could do with a little clean (on the day I went in it) but hey, you have 3 to choose from! I would recommend this to friends and family who have not been to this island before. But only if you are under 40 or if you don't mind a largely younger crowd hanging around.

Ideal hotel for Party”

i had a great party time at koh samui during my stay last week 12th-14th february 2013. the price of room on agoda.com is reasonable which i considered cheap. if you are looking for great party season during on your stay beside full moon party at koh phangan, ark bar at chaweng beach would be the best choice that i highly recommend. they party every wednesday and friday night. the music were so hit and loud makes your body feels like to move all night. this was the coolest night i ever had. however, if you prefer privacy or quiet holiday. this resort might not suitable for you. beside partying, ark bar is locate at the head of center in chaweng town, walking distance to night market and plenty of restaurants are just near to the corner. shop and easy. i had 2 noisy but awesome party nights at ark bar and another 3 quite nights stay at panviman koh phangan. it was a memorable trip!

Great Location, Great Food, Great Price, GREAT PARTY!”

I always have a great time when I stay at the Ark Bar. I love the awesome location right in the heart of Chaweng Beach, the millions off restaurants right outside. The awesome restaurant at the Ark Bar with tons of food at affordable prices, low priced rooms, cheap laundry services priced right! Awesome Pool with DJ, great beachfront, Great Staff!! And of course the amazing Ark Bar beach party on Wed and Fri nights!! What an amazing hotel!! The staff always goes out of their way to make sure I am happy. I am always going back! Love it!!!
