Friendly staff, great location and the views.”
Hassle free internet booking and at a very competitive price. We were greeted by the friendly staff, who were always up for a chat, on arrival. The rooms were cleaned and topped up each day. Upstairs the kitchen with dining tables had all utensils supplied. My daughter had her first experience cooking on an electric stove, thankfully the exhaust fans do work very well. Adjoining the kitchen is a lounge area with views of the Aoraki Mount Cook ranges with seating inside and out. We were surprised at how warm the accommodation was at all hours as on our last day we were leaving at 5am and found the building still warm enough to be able to walk around in bare feet. So yes, we would stay at The Aoraki Mount Cook Alpine Lodge again.

Awesome Lodge”
When we arrived it was raining cats and dogs. As we entered, we were greeted by at the reception by a young lady who was very helpful and very friendly. Our room was a mount facing room, on the first floor. The lodge itself is very cosy and comfortable and just as you would expect an alpine lodge, it is primarily with a wooden finish. There is a small shop at the reception for buying basic groceries. The room was very good. Cosy, small, with a queen and two bunk beds on the side. There were no cooking facilities in the room as such, only tea and coffee. The view from the room was great. The bathroom was also descent. On the first floor, there was a common room with common cooking and dining facilities. Initially, we were a bit apprehensive about sharing the kitchen with others. The kitchen was big with a number of cooktops and fridges and microwave. There are a number of dining tables and coches, with a big balcony over looking mount cook. The features of the kitchen were good and in fact we liked cooking with the various other guests of different nationality. The TV in the big common room had Foxtel and hence you could see various channels. The fact that I could see the India vs West Indies cricket match at a remote place like this was unbelievable. The TV in the room had very limited channels. The wifi provided was very generous with about 5GB of data. Overall, I had a very satisfying stay and being able to se mount cook from my room on a full moon night was wow. The staff was really good, helpful and very chatty. I really liked talking to them ladies at the reception. Overall I loved this place. Overall Rating 4.5/5.

Amanda's review”
Very cosy rooms with great scenery. Location was good and hotel staff were friendly and helpful in providing information on walks, dining options and other activities within the vicinity. Bathroom facilities were ample and heater was efficient in keeping us warm. Cooking facilities located upstairs were convenient and easy to use, and provided us with a good view of Mount Cook while we made breakfast. Overall, we strongly recommend accommodation in Aoraki Mount Cook Alpine Lodge.

Wonderful location”
Brilliant stay at the Aoaraki Mount Cook Alpine Lodge! Fantastic drive to get to the village, and then a wonderful welcome from Vee at reception. Yes, the bedrooms are basic, but they are clean and comfortable, but we spent no time in our rooms, just to sleep. From the large windowed common room, the view appears to be just the same as from the very expensive nearby Hermitage. Even better, in the same room is the communal kitchen which is well equipped so you can save loads on eating out whilst enjoying the view! Great stay - highly recommended.

Stayed at Aoraki Mount Cook Alpine Lodge recently. The room is a bit small but is very clean, neat and comfy. There is also a guest lounge area, where full kitchen amenities are available. Highly recommended!

Amazing view of Mt Cook!”
My husband and I just stayed at the Aoraki Mount Cook Alpine Lodge in early January. It is right in the village, so is very convenient. The kitchen facilities are excellent if you wish to cook your own meal. The great room, which is a common room for all, is very comfortable with an amazing view of Mount Cook! The staff were very friendly and helpful.I would highly recommend this lodge.

Great accommodation if you plan a trip to Mt Cook”
I love the kitchen the most, very well equipped and 'user friendly', 3 different persons can cook at a time. Lounge has very nice view of Mt Cook, comfortable as well and well equipped with SkyTv. Not a lot of channels in the room though, nevertheless room was comfortable and clean. Staff was attentive and nice enough as I left my necklace in the room and they offered to post to me via mail. Nice restaurants beside Alpine Lodge. Only shortcoming was, there was nothing much to do at Mt Cook except for trekking. Glacier seeing was a disappointment, this place is only for those who loves to walk and do mountain hiking. No ski field unless you head to Roundhill at Lake Tekapo, about 1 hour drive away. Mt Cook is worth a night stay, but definitely not more. Consider staying at Lake Tekapo which is a nice small town and is close to Roundhill ski field.

Great "self service" hotel”
This was our second time staying at Aoraki Mount Cook Alpine Lodge, we really like the place that's why we stayed there again, it is clean & tidy, has a great view of the highest mountain in New Zealand, the common kitchen has everything you need to prepare your food! Just lovely!

Comfortable & not over-crowded”
Will need to carry luggage upstairs as no lift available. But kind receptionist help us with ours. Parking is at a general parking lot. First come first serve and may be a problem if many visitors to Mount Aoraki DOC. Wasn't a big problem for us, though. Kitchen & kitchen facilities big enough and not over-crowded with people. Complimentary milk provided. View from kitchen spectacular! Overall, our stay here were very comfortable and safe for the children. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for accommodation right at the door step to Aoraki hikes. Good job to the team for up-keeping this place.

This hotel has got everything you will ever need for your stay there. It is right in the heart of mount cook vally and next to the starting point for all local tours. It the wheather is not good outside even then you will have plenty of fun in this cosy comfortable place.

Great place for yr Mount Cook experince”
Very good. As there is not many choices for accommodation at Mount Cook, I would go for this one. The Hermitage Hotel is in superb location, but you have to pay more and the hotel seems to be very booked due to growing numbers of oriental tourists. Early booking needed for the lodge as well. Rooms are clean and comfortable, but the biggest attraction is the big, comfortable lounge with superb views to the mountains.

Beautiful lodge and location is amazing”
the kitchen area and porch outside overlook the mountain range with mt cook being amongst them. it is right in the middle of everything going on and has nice walking trails around the hotel. the woman at the front desk is very nice and helpful, and the rooms are very cozy and comfortable. the value for the price is great, i would always prefer this lodge compared to their overpriced competitor.

Great location but small and cramped room ”
This motel is at a fantastic location. Its simply relaxing to be at Mount Cook Village with breathtaking views of the mountain. The counter staff Mary was very warm and friendly. The rooms were very clean but very cramped. There seems to be some space restriction at Mount Cook Village. (I don't see why the nearby hotel, The Hermitage should be a multi-storey building when there is a vast amount of space at Mount Cook Village.) This hotel has a common kitchen which is well stocked with crockery and utensils. We had an unique experience cooking with fellow guests.

Great Place and Great View”
We stayed here for 1 night and had the room with the mountain view. The room were good sized and clean. The hotel had a common area that had kitchen and living area and a balcony with a stunning view of mount cook. We also got a free 9Gb internet access which was really handy. We will be back soon :

Fantastic views from the hotel rooms ”
This is basically just a room. But the views are to die for. Awesome. Give windows and great views of Mount cook and the glaciers and the night sky. It has a common kitchen where u can cook but if u want to go to a restaurant u need to go out, just 2 min walk. It can't be a 4 star because it's a Lodge with just rooms. But i felt the price was steep.

Nice motel with views of mount cook”
Nice hotel , very close to the Hermitage with a great common area. There was free wi-fi for 30 minutes. There was a huge common kitchen with a warm living area. It had a great view of mount cook. The rooms were small but clean . Would definitely stay again .

perfect”
Very friendly owner and staff. Excellent room as booked with direct view of mt cook. Hotel has feel of ski lodge/chalet but on self catering basis. Kitchen/lounge is superb with vista window framing mt cook and leading on to balcony.so much better than the hermitage which is completely touristy.
