Great stay at the Antoneri lodge”
We stayed 2 nights at the Antoneri lodge and used it as a base for Kelimutu. The owner is a very friendly and helpful person who does everything he can to make sure you like your stay. He personally drove us to Mt Kelimutu at 0430 in the morning and also fixed us a driver back to Ende at a good price, making sightseeing stops along the way. The rooms are simple (don't expect 5 star luxury in Moni), clean and stay pretty cool in the Moni heat (fan included). I would definitely recommend the Antoneri lodge to anyone going to Moni.

2 days in Moni ”
We had a nice stay in Moni. Antoneri Lodge is convenient and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Advice: if you want to rest after long travel avoid the night from Sunday to Monday as the weekly market will be just opposite of Antoneri. Meaning quite busy from 3am to 11am. If you get up early for sunrise at Kelimutu, should be no problem. Other days are pretty relaxed and quite. Bambu restaurant is just behind. Serves Moni food set menu. We enjoyed our stay!

Nice accomodation in moni”
It's a basic recommendation but the owner is very nice, I see they work hard to make the hotel clean all the time. It have a poeerful press hot water which make u have a nice shower. Moni has not a lot fun except kelimutu. This hotel only 2km form the road to kelimutu. I rent a motro bike which is much expensive than Bali. But understand there is not a mature travel place yet. 100k for a morning time. But after I leave moni and arrived ende town, which is cost 300k per day for rent the motorbike! That's crazy! I rent 300K for 1 week in Bali! If this never change I think kelimutu is not that attract traveler to come because traveler would tell everyone here is inconvenience and expensive. The people are nice though, just hoping everything not raise up the price to shock the travelers.

Good little homestay”
Only stayed here one night but would stay again. It's basic & clean. Plain pancakes for breakfast so if your not into blandness bring a banana or Nutella or something to put on it. Only negative was they said a taxi would cost 400000 from Ende to Moni but met up with 2 other girls that got told 200000 which is the price we got it for.

hot water and clean sheets”
Pros: 1. hot water 2. clean sheets 3. large room Cons: 1. owner not as friendly or helpful as other reviews say. kept asking me about booking even though he had received it (and i arrived one day late, out of the two nights i booked, so he had plenty of time). 2. charged exorbitant prices for going up to kelimutu - wanted 150k one way and 200k return, for an ojek! of course i did not take up this ridiculous offer. 3. bath towel was wet - there was a dirty/unfinished room in which all the laundered bath towels were hanging (they have a courtyard to hang them out but i dunno why they did not), and when i arrived in late afternoon there was not a single dry one. kind of gross.

Good and clean guesthouse right in the village center”
Good and clean room, hot shower, quiet, breakfast too light however. The owner can arrange return transport to Kelimutu for a good price. I definitely recommend.

Central location, fairly clean ”
Right in the middle of Mini, close to shops and restaurants. The hot water doesn't last long, but enough for a quick shower. Best of this, there is no disgusting smell for a price like this one. The next door charges more but smells really bad. So I am happy with it.

Could have been worse...”
It appears that being the closest town to mount kelimutu, a situation that does not appear to be changing anytime soon, has led the proprietors of this hotel, and seemingly many of Moni's "restaurants", to become somewhat complacent with the service they provide their customers. When we arrived at the lodge late one evening (arrived late due to construction being done on the only road from Ende to Moni) we were told (not asked) by the lodge staff (the guy with teeth) that the lodge's driver would be waking us up at 4am to take us to Kelimutu. We said ok. The driver did not come, though we woke ourselves up at 4 so we would be ready. We later found out from another guest that the reason the driver didn't show may have been because the guy who told us the driver was coming had been drinking somewhat heavily the night before. Luckily, or unluckily, we were staying for two more night, so this was not as bad as it could have been. The lodge staff, stay up quite late talking to each other and other village members rather loudly in the lodge's courtyard. Due to the courtyard's U shape and unsealed nature of the room walls facing the courtyard, the sound enters the rooms unfettered. This accompanied by the cinder blocks provided as pillows make sleeping difficult. As there is no nightlife for tourists to speak of in Moni, sleep is among the only activities once the sun goes down (the 'dining' in this place is amongst the worst I have experienced anywhere, so a nice late dinner isn't really an option. The Indonesian dishes verge on inedible, one attempt at western food by the Bintang Cafe made my wife sick.). It is weeks later and the thought of the pancake served for breakfast at the lodge still makes me want to gag. It was so bad we only ate breakfast on 1 of the 3 mornings we were there. kelimutu isn't worth the time and the trouble and is quite expensive all on its own. Skip this place.

One night stay”
There're 6 rooms in total, simple, but really clean, with fan, a chair, small wardrobe and s bed, forget about AC or WIFI. The owner is very friendly but doesn't bother you with talks, he really cares about his place and does his job well. The room has little open decorative windows through which all mosquitos can freely come, even though there is a mosquito net over the bed it might be a good idea to bring some extra repellent. It's a shame that the main reason we actually stayed there was s bit disappointing: the lakes weren't that different at all, maybe just the second one was a bit unusual. Hope they really change the colors through the year

Good budget, so-so owners”
Fine place with Western standards in room. There's hot shower but electricity comes and goes frequently. The couple running the place is a bit straightforward and rude. Included breakfast isn't much of a thing. Still, one of the best prices round town.

Okay.”
Very basic, but clean room. Breakfast was okay, but not enough. No breakfast options as well. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

Basic place”
A very basic place for one night stay to Kelimutu. Electricity in the village off from 12am until 6am, but in our case it was until 10am. It's not a big deal though, as we arrived only at 10am from Kelimutu.

Mixed experience”
Generally it was okay, but we had a slightly unpleasant experience with one staff member. We specifically asked him to book us a bus to Maumere. He completely disregarded this and booked a shared car (about ten times more expensive) and it was one of the most uncomfortable rides of my life (erratic driving, no air con and extremely loud music). However the driver they hired to give us a tour of the surrounding area was fantastic. He was polite, helpful and careful.
