Perfect location for a stay in Chaweng”

We absolutely loved our stay at Amari, early March 2012. First of all, the location was perfect. We had heard mixed reviews about Chaweng, with most people believing it was to busy and touristy to be relaxing. However, by staying at Amari, we found this was false. Amari is right on Chaweng beach, but is far enough north to avoid the crowd and far enough south that one can walk to everything very easily. At the resort, our room was on the beach side, which some reviewers said they found to be too noisy. We did not have this problem and loved the central location of our room. Not only were the usual bathrobes available but there were also umbrellas and a beach bag for our use. The room itself was not huge, but the bed was incredibly comfortable and it was nice to have a place to sit outside. It was near breakfast (included in our Agoda price - and it was fantastic, one of the best breakfasts we've ever had), a pool, and the beach. There are gorgeous trees that shade the beach for part of the day, which is really nice. The staff is very nice and everyone always had a smile. We traveled as a couple but noted that there seemed to be many families as well. It did seem to be a very family-friendly resort. We would definitely consider Amari in the future, whether traveling as a couple again or with more people. We enjoyed using the free wi-fi in the public areas of the hotel, although the fact that one must pay for wi-fi for room usage was annoying. In this day and age, that is a huge turn off. In fact, at first, we didn't want to consider any hotels that would charge for wi-fi. That being said, we are glad we changed our minds because we enjoyed our stay at Amari.

Holiday Savers!”

After a disturbed and unsatisfying stay elsewhere in Chaweng, we managed to book a room with Amari at short notice and it saved our stay on Koh Samui. Good location - close enough to the action but isolated enough to get some peace and relaxation when needed. Hotel grounds, rooms, pools and facilities are immaculately kept and well maintained. Staff were accomodating, polite and friendly. Breakfast was very good and an abundance of options available. We had lunch a few times and wide menu offered and reasonably priced.

great hotel and service”

the Amari was a great place to stay. the villas were perfect for a family of five. breakfast included was excellent with a wide variety of local and continental items. restraint staff friendly and helpful. do yourself a favour and eat at the hotel food is good a fair priced. restrauntsb around chaweng are at best average. the beach position is excellent and water relatively clean. location is very central in chaweng good markets but tourist prices. however chaweng is not the best and cleanest beach in samui. serenity needs to be found on the western side of the island for around 1000 baht. recommend five islands beach restraunt. take the boat out to five islands and koh tan for a snorkel. beautiful. the pool staff could be more helpful with towels and chairs.

Great resort with excellent service”

Given that they had just experienced 4 days of tropical storms and Koh Samui was effectively flooded, they soon had things back and running and all the time with a smile and "sawatdee Khrab/Kaa" everytime they met you. If you can get an upgrade to the rooms "out the back" they are better and bigger than the front rooms. ALthough further from the beach you still have another resort style pool close by. We were in Samui for a wedding (at another resort - Sareeraya) and the Amari staff had no problem in collecting frangipani flowers (lila wdhi) for us to shower the bride and groom with. This 4*+ resort is a different style to the 5*+ Sareeraya but we thought it suited us better (most of the wedding party stayed at the Amari - I would definitely staff there again!

Excellent hotel and services with warm welcome”

My husband and myself decided to choose Amari Palm Reef Samui as our first choice because we used to stay in Amari Koh Chang and we experienced the excellent services from the hotel. So we had no doubt about this. We travelled along with my in-laws, his mom and autie who enjoyed staying in Amari very much and we all loved the delectable breakfast and Prego resturant that I couldn't deny how amazing italian cusine was,along with the great ingredients that it offered. The chef also offered me some special food for breakfast as I liked as well. The day my husband's birthday I surprised him by arranging some cake and candles in the room with impressed me and my husband very much. I have nothing to say more just the best trip ever the days we spent there. Also we could choose activities that hotel offered as well.

Beautiful hotel in great location”

My husband travelled together with 2 other couples over a long weekend to the Amari Palm Reef. It was our first visit to Koh Samui and we couldn't have been happier with the place we chose to stay. We initially chose it as Discovery Divers was the in-house dive shop, but overall glad we stayed there for the service and comfort of the room. It was a 5 minute walking distance to nightlife, restaurants, shopping, massages, etc. The food was delicious with excellent salads by the pool, a gourmet full spread for breakfast, and a wonderful Italian restaurant. Overall it was great value for money and we would recommend it to anyone in Koh Samui.

Gotta be the best in Chaweng Beach! ”

i stayed at amari palm reef resort with my fiance on valentine's day and we totally loved the hotel! everything was lovely, our room was huge and spacious, the pool was awesome and we made full use of it! breakfast was a wide spread, we had everything from western to asian cuisine! they even prepared some latte for us! the resort is located near restaurants, shops and night market which is very convenient for the hotel guests! we'll surely stay at amari palm reef resort if we visit koh samui again in the near future!

Good hotel”

Amari Palm Reef is a good place to stay in Koh Samui. Very likely we will choose it again next time. The hotel is located conveniently on the north part of Chaweng beach, 10 minutes walk from the night clubs and restaurants. I really appreciate the distance and the peaceful environment comes with it. Convenient store (7-11) and Thai massages are just next door so no need to talk the full walk all the time. The airport is very close so there are planes taking off and making big noise. But Samui airport is not a busy one so the noise only happens with acceptable frequency and there wasn't any noise early in the morning or late in the night. Hotel rooms are nice and clean. The toilet is ok but the shower facility is a little bit too simple. The beach is nice. But it would be hard to get a chair from the hotel beach after 10am. I played a lot in the pool so it doesn't matter. Breakfast is ok. With little variation from day to day, it still providew abudant choices. My daughter loves the scramble egg, the cereal and the cheeses. Though reception staff seem a little indifferent, other staff are extremely helpful.

Excellent location with all the amenities expected”

Could not praise the staff highly enough. The Amari was central to all the main attractions around Koh Samui and yet it felt secluded enough to feel you were in another world. Beautiful beaches were at your back door with crystal clear waters. The overall amenities were excellent and the rooms very comfortable. We will return to the Amari Palm Reef Resort when we next come back to Koh Samui .

Highly recommended ”

Stay at Amari Koh Samui was great, staff are friendly, located walking distance from restaurants and night life, grounds and facilities are all beautifully kept. Only downsides are it's quite close to the airport and you can frequently hear planes overhead from your room and despite telling the travel agent located in the lobby I wanted to be charged in thai baht, she charged me in AUD and I was charged a conversion fee. All in all a great stay and I would stay there again.

Absolutely Amazing”

This is a really great place to stay. The location is about 15min cab ride from the airport and a 5-10 min walk to the very busy downtown Chaweng. Therefore it is very close to the action if you want it and far enough away if you don't. We booked a Superior room but were upgraded to a Villa which most of the rooms seem to be. It was spacious with high ceilings and a gorgeous bathroom. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The beach and pool area was great. We walked up and down the beach and we found the beach in our area the cleanest with the calmest water as there were large rocks and reefs further out which were breaking the waves for us. It was great for swimming and the sand was lovely. Breakfast was awesome with loads of selections. The service was fantastic. There are a lot of mosquitos in Koh Samui particularly if it rained. When it did service staff went room to room asking if occupants had mosquito problems. They would do a quick spray and leave flowers that helped repel them. We travel quite a bit and can honestly say this was one of our favorites. We were only supposed to stay here 3 nights and ended up staying a week!

Amari”

First at all when you arrive at Amari they take care of everything and thats verry nice after a long flight. The give good service and always with a smile something which makes us happy. The rooms are nice and verry clean. The food is perfect they have a nice restaurant called PREGO and the beachfront is also verry good. There is a big choice of food at the breakfast restaurant. The pool is also good organised enough towels and the staff is great. So in one word we love Amari on Koh Samui.

Good value for money for a stay in Samui”

Amari is a very good choice for a quality stay in Samui. Having a lot of rooms, its prices are very good value for money. The design of both the hotel and the rooms is very good: for example, the 2 swimming pool areas are very pleasant, and the rooms have efficient and well adjustable air conditioning (no direct flow on the bed). The location is just perfect, as it is close to Chaweng beach (5 minute walk), but not too close (which would imply a lot of noise and some bad smell from the dirty water system in that area...). Breakfast is very abuandant and good. On the cons, the resort is big and some rooms are a little far (2 minute walk) from the restaurant. Overall, a very good pick in Chaweng

Cool Haven!”

Our second time to Koh Samui and we hesitated booking this hotel due more costlier than our last stay. In the end, we decided to go for it and no regrets!! All went smoothly from the moment we were picked up from airport to our room which is clean and big. Staff are friendly and helpful. They always greet you with a smile. The breakfast is amazing! Best breakfast spread we have encountered so far. This time we didn't rent a motorbike as it takes only about 15-20 minutes leisurely walking from hotel to Chaweng town. Massage shops and convenience stores nearby hotel hence location is great for us. A nice, happy and marvelous stay for us. Highly recommended.

One night stop on our way to Koh Tao”

We wanted to spend a night on Koh Samui before taking the ferry to Koh Tao. The Amari Reef is a beautiful property and our room was prefect for my wife and 12 year-old daugther, we're upgraded to the delux family room with a loft. The beach and resturant were across the road, which was safely managed by the staff. We spent the morning at the beach, however on that day there was some construction activites occuring right next door.

Wonderful hotel, perfectly situated on the beach”

We stayed at the Amari for Christmas and it was well worth the trip. On arrival to end of stay the staff were fantastic and always on hand with a smile. There are 2 pools with one right by the sea, both well maintained. Breakfast was excellent with chefs on hand to cook eggs of any description to order. The general decor around the hotel is very good and stylish, with a selection of sofas, seats and day beds to choose. Eating Christmas dinner by the beach was the hightlight for me. The room was good, with every conveniance thought of. Bathroom modern. However the only disadvantage is that the hotel is split in 2 with majority of rooms being over the road to the main hotel. Hence a bit of a walk back to the room. I would definately return to the Amari but it might be worth booking well in advance and going for one of the rooms closer to the main area. We did suffer a power cut each night at 5pm, but the hotel is equipped with giant generators that deal with it. It is actually a problem all over the Island which fingers crossed should be sorted early 2013 when they replace cables under the sea. Apparantly the Amari is one of only few hotels with such powerful generators. It did not affect our stay.

Beautiful resort and excellent service ”

we found the amari palm reef a fantastic resort .the buffet breakfast was faultless probably the best we had during our 4 week holiday .we had been to vietnam for almost 3 weeks prior to travelling to koh samui .the staff were excellent the gardens & rooms were well kept. our room was towards back of resort & was extremely private & quiet. the resort has 2 sections the beach front & garden views which is seperated by road .not a problem as there are 24 hour traffic control to help you cross road .i would stay at this resort again if i came back to koh samui.preggo restaurant is excellent.

Very nice hotel”

Amari's facilities are definately top of the line, they have two pools and a wonderful spa area. The pool by the beach was the best that I saw among the Chaweng Beach hotels. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel rooms and bathrooms were excellent and definately could not ask for more. I definately plan on staying here if I am ever back in Koh Samui. Next time I need to try the spa treatments, they sounded amazing.

Amari Palm Reef Resort Koh Samui, Thailand”

Our stay at the Amari Palm Reef Resort Koh Samui, Thailand turned out to be one of our best holidays ever! For checking in to checking out we were so well looked after with very personalised service through out our entire stay. Great buffet breakfast every morning. We can highly recommend their Spa. The Resort is beautifully amongst lovely trees and heaps of greenery. We will be going back there again.

excellent hotel with wonderful staff”

I am delighted that we chose to stay at the Amari. It is centrally located quite close to the airport but whereas much of Koh Samui seems to be backpacker country - great if you are looking for noisy nightlife etc - the Amari is at the quieter end of the beautiful Chaweng beach. The amenities are good but the key point is that the staff have been very well trained and really go out of their way to provide service but in a quiet and unobtrusive manner.
