Basic and close to everything”
If you're after somewhere basic that's cheap and close to everything in town this motel is great. Close to the RSA, for a cheap meal, close to the Thai for a lovely dinner or breakfast.

Was ok”
Unfortunately the city is quite dead. We experienced some noise from drunk people on the Street and in the motel, which krept us awake for periods of the night. Not much spa about this motel. But all in all an ok stay for an overnight stay. But would probadly stay in another town if i should be in the area again.

Good location ”
The motel has a very good location location and is only a 2 minute walk from the township. The rooms need updating, I thought it was overpriced for New Zealand standards.

Acceptable”
Room had new carpet and tiles but otherwise generally old. Suppose to have a Kitchenette but there was no sink or tap other than the basin in the toilet, which didn’t strike us as particularly hygenjc for doing dishes. All the lights in the room had one of the two globes removed, Freeview only on TV. No a/c despite 32 degrees outside, very hot and uncomfortable night

When making a booking you should really read the room descriptions, look at the photos and the descriptions of the facilities. If you had done this you would have seen that what you got is what is advertised. As none of the light fittings has the ability to hold more than 1 bulb it is impossible to remove 1 of the bulbs. The truth of the matter is you were annoyed because we told you you couldn't put your mountain bikes into the room that you could store them in our provided secure storage or leave them on the back of your car. We do not allow the bikes in the rooms for safety and cleanliness reasons. They are a potential hazard in an emergency.
Our base in Taumarunui”
This was a good base for us enroute from New Plymouth to Ohakune where we wanted to visit the Army Museum. The manager was very helpful & friendly. The room was comfortable - the only gripe was that any washing up had to be done in the bathroom basin. Room was quite a decent size, clean & comfortable. We enjoyed using the spa.

We received a very friendly welcome, and the family room was a good size, with sufficient space for the four of us. The electric blankets were a welcome addition. Everything was clean and comfortable.
