"There were 4 of us traveling as a group, and we stayed in 2 bungalows. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. They will rent you motorbikes at a reasonable rate, which are the best way to explore the island. The included breakfast is also excellent, and they provided us with takeaway breakfast on the day of our departure even thought we left early in the morning (before normal breakfast hours). The location is OK...the hotel is right off a relatively busy road, and the beach is not really a walkable distance (probably 1/2 hour walking). However, on a motorbike it is ~10 minutes. We actually took motorbikes to a farther away beach that was supposed to be prettier (we didn't check out the nearest beach), but unfortunately the beach we went to suffered from the pervasive trash-on-beach issue that seems to affect many of the beaches around SE Asia. Too bad. We only had 1 sunny beach day (out of 2 days on the island), so we couldn't check out any of the other beaches. The town is a 10-15 minute motorbike ride away from the hotel. There are not many (any?) restaurants within reasonable walking distance, although the hotel has a restaurant. Both bungalows that we stayed in were fan-cooled, with mosquito nets. While the nets function as well as can be expected, if you are concerned about mosquitos/bugs, I would recommend paying a little extra for an air-conditioned bungalow. The toilet and shower are outdoors. While I enjoyed the outdoor shower, the outdoor (semi-secluded) toilet was a little hard to get used to. But, other people may not mind as much. For the price however, this was a really good option. I'm not sure if any of the farther away beaches will be cleaner, as almost all beaches we saw on our trip were littered with trash, and at least the beach we went to was empty of other visitors. Luckily there are other fun things to do on the island besides lie on the beach! I recommend renting a motorbike."

Maison du Vietnam Resort & Spa

"The best resort in this price range. They have free shuttle bus to Duong Dong beach, Night Market and several other places. After a few days at the beach, we wanted to stay here near the Suoi Da Ban to chill and this resort matched our needs: excellent staff services, good breakfast at no extra charge, salt water outdoor pool, large room, large resort, nice garden, and didn't cost too much. Thanks so much for the upgrade. We had the huge room 105 with pool view, 2 King beds and a dinner table in room. There are 2 chairs and a table in front of the room too. Each room has a small garden with border which gives enough privacy and the whole resort looks so inviting. Thank you for the male staff with excellent English who talked to us when we checked out. We followed his advice and arrived at Kep Beach Cambodia so easily. I regret we couldn't stay longer to enjoy the pool more. We had the place just for two of us as others guests might go out to the Night Market. I just love this resort!!!"

"Language barriers with the staffs, inside the resort compound is clean with newly planted landscaped but outside external from the perimeter gates it is like back in Cambodia's year zero....unpaved roads and trash garbage littered all around 😲.... Karaoke blasts the surroundings from 5.00pm till late night 10.00pm from all those local cracks and artistes wannabe... Warning...Travel advisory alerts and in personal discretion."

Phu Quoc Blue Hotel
Cua Duong,Cua Duong - View on map
"We had a good stay on Phu Quoc Island- the major town is about 5kms away- fine if you hire a motorbike. however be aware you will have to travel over a bumpy dirt road to get to town- you can go the long way around but will cost you much more in a taxi. Super clean room, bathroom was good too - only downside was the shower was super intense very thin streams of water which can be quite painful if you want a decent pressure. My only complaint was my headphones seem to have gone walkabout.. I know I had them in the room and they definitely aren't with us now- since unpacking in our new hotel..."

If it’s a quiet place your looking for with pool, beach within walking distance and a few really good restaurants. This is a gem for sure. Planned on staying three nights and ended staying a week. "

Coco Valley Garden Hotel
Cua Duong,Cua Duong - View on map
"First, carefully booked for 10 days, then extended to the end of the trip for another 10, because I realized that it is better not to find. I think this is one of the best places in Phu Quoc in terms of price and quality: a full-fledged low-cost hotel room with shower and toilet, with its own territory and a garden near the beaches. There are not so many nightclubs like Long Beach, but here there is a lot of nature with the sea and the jungle, and also cultural friendly fellowship. Staying at the hotel was like staying with a circle of friends: you all know, everyone knows you. Barbecue with seafood, Christmas, New Year, local stories and local characters (for example, Tyoko is a friendly Turkish volunteer, who knows the local movements). The hotel has its own life, of which you can become a part. Here I first sat on a motorbike, first took a dip in the sea (oh yeah!), First drank rum from seashells, for the first time ate in unlimited quantities of seafood, for the firs"
