Awesome resort, confusing to get there.”

We were not informed how to get to this resort. You have to check in at an office in the nearby town, then take the taxi to the Pier (at the dam) * where there is NO ATM*. Have to buy a boat ticket to the resort (to and from)! And have to pay a park fee *CASH ONLY*. and the Resort is also CASH ONLY. So we had to get another taxi to go to an ATM. They say Air Conditioning is in every room, which it is, BUT ONLY FROM 7pm to 6am! Beautiful resort, friendly staff, amazing mountains, awesome kayaking. Would not stay here longer than 2 days in the hot summer.

Very nice view and nice accommodaton”

Amazing location, and amazing view. We've had a lovely time there. Staffs were very friendly. A bit hot during the day and afternoon. They started to provide air-con from 7 pm. But you can soak yourself into the water if you don't mind of getting very tan, and a fan in-room provided. The down side of this place is the transfer. It's very expensive. They don't provide you a long-tail boat with this price, which you have to book extra 4,500 baht and its not always available. So you have to get from a local. The menu very limited, if you don't buy the buffet. Only many choices on the menu, but not in reality .

Nice resort & location but very poor communication and staff”

Overall the resort is nice but it could be much better. Tried to contact the resort 4 months before arriving to book a private boat, after some reply they then disappeared. Contacted back 2 weeks before & different person replied but again stopped replying. I then had to call them the day before to confirm I had a boat which they said they would contact me back, which they didn’t. Arrived on the day and they booked the boat for us and told us to wait at a designated waiting area near the boats and that they would ring at 11:15. Surprise surprise I didn’t receive a phone call by 11:30 and had to go and find the driver myself!!! Once arrived everything was fine. Evening meal wasn’t great. I had finished my meal by the time my boyfriend had received his. When asked why that was the staff just simply said ‘don’t know’. Seemed like the staff were all young with little experience and needed some leadership and guidance as they were nice enough. Overall was average and won’t be going back

Unlimited kayaking and lake access”

The staffs were very helpful, from the management to the cleaners. Considering its location 1hpur from the pier, the room is comfortable enough to stay for few days. To make your experience better, ask for their help whenever u need it before coming and when u are staying there.

Back to basic experience, without wifi or tv. Had fun time with unlimited lake access and kayaking surrounded with clean freah air. The most important tips here is, please ask the staff time guidelines before coming here eg, what time to gather at their office etc. If u abide with the guidelines, there will be smooth journey. Thumbs up!

Absolutely not worth it!”

I don't have any memory of ever posting any negative feed back even though my experiences where not that good. Only here i would like to inform that this resort is far far from being worth the money you will spend. No service, no organization from their office (in land) to their resort on the lake (took us 3h from the time we arrive in the office to the resort), You also must pay 5500THB to access the resort and it was not even able to arrive on time to pick us up. You can only get food from 6PM to 8PM... The first bungalow we've been given was not in good conditions and towels with holes in it... We paid 18000THB for one night not including the boat and i had to show pictures to the staff before they decide to upgrade us to a slightly better bungalow. I could keep going longer but the main point is, you will get the same view to a cheaper resort more authentic like i stayed 2years ago and 4 times cheaper. Not worth it...

Not worth for this price”

We booked Villa 2 nights. We paid a lot but there were not including lunch and dinner which normally who paid much cheaper they got lunch and dinner inclusive. Room feature is way too normal for this price and the foods and drinks there were very expensive. We tried to negotiate with front office there about our lunch and dinner but they couldn't help. In Bathroom in Villa the shower was defect. Btw guest needs to pay for the boat transfer to go to the Resort by them self.

This place it's very remote. The only regret is we can't go to the Tam Talu Cave. We will be back next time.

The only thing worth about this place is the view and location. We paid the price same as other luxury 5 stars hotels but the room here is definitely not 5 stars quality and in need of major renovation.

Stayed here with all inclusive. Did one 2 tours out of 3 days staying here, Food was the same everyday. No food menu, no mini bar, no one to take care. It a complete waste of money and even complaining to management about something your right about is wrong to them and they are always right. Avoid and find another place there. Waste of money for sure

500 rai resort in chap lan”

It turned out the hotel is Eco friendly and has no electricity for air condition between 06:30- 18:30 , meaning all day. and there’s no cellular reception at all and no Wi-Fi at the hotel, which is totally fine if I known in advanced and decide that’s what I want, but not to find out when I already arrive to the resort and there’s nothing you can do about it . The hotel rate is much higher than normal and you expect to have transparency about such important things.

Honeymooners be aware! Its just a good name for a horrible old and primitive place with a bed impossible to sleep and NO INTERNET AT ALL IN all the Estate. 1.500bht per day satelite www very slow. Only one Stuff speaks english but she is not always there. Thai customers have priorities in all things. Foreign customers are 2nd class. Cheapest bottle of wine 1.900bht - same in the shop 490bht. If You need to go to the main building the boat needs 35 to pick you up. We booked and paid for 2 days and left after 1 night early morning. Do not make our mistake to go there - it looks only on the photos nice…

500 Rai Floating Resort ist nicht günstig, jedoch ein wirkliches Erlebnis. Gelegen auf dem Cheo Lan Lake ist dieses Hotel eine wahres Paradies für die Sinne. Spektakuläre Landschaft, fantastisches Essen und sehr sehr freundliches Personal. Die Zimmer sind einer Schiffskajüte ähnlich, sehr sauber und haben alles, was es braucht Hier punktet einfach die phantastische Lage!

Wir sind sofort woanders hin gegangen”

Der Tag war windig und regnerisch. Wir sollten "VOR BETRETEN DES BOOTES" erstmal 10.000 Baht für 16.000 Baht Gegenleistung zahlen. (Ganz offenbar sind die Preise vor Ort also unfair kalkuliert). Das "Boot" für 5.000 Baht ist selbst für thailändische Verhältnisse eine absolute Zumutung. Keinerlei Wetterschutz bei Sonne, Wind und Regen - einfach nur drei Bretter zum Sitzen. Gepäck wird sicherheitshalber in Plastiksäcke gepackt - für den Fahrgast gibt es keinerlei (Regen- oder Sonnen-)Schutz. Und das für 1,5h.. Das Internet wurde uns telefonisch als langsam, für Emails ausreichend beschrieben. Also für IT-Nomaden ungeeignet. Dazu kam die ganze Situation am Pier, wo wir erstmal herumgeführt wurden und, inkl. Parkplatz 4 x Gebühren (Service, Nationalpark, Parkplatz, Hotelvoucher) zu entrichten hatten. Es ging erstmal nur ums Geld und fühlte sich von Anfang an nicht gut an. Insgesamt hatten wir vor Ort ein derart ungutes Gefühl, daß wir uns gar nicht erst haben hinfahren lassen. Wir wurden vorher auch von Dritten schon gewarnt. Liebes 500Rai: Die Anschaffung eines hauseigenen, wettergeschützten Bootes ist angesichts der verlangten Preise nicht zuviel verlangt und erwartbar. Für 700€/Nacht ist das angebotene Boot ohne jeden Schutz wirklich ein schlechter Witz.. Die Anschaffung eines vermietbaren Satellitentelefones mit vergleichsweise schnellem Internet sollte selbst für die derzeit geltenden 1500 Baht/Tag/Device gut machbar sein - denn Satelliten schweben auch über dem abgelegensten Hotel ;o) (wenige Polargebiete ausgenommen) Meines Erachtens ist es auch etwas unverschämt, die Abwesenheit von Internet aufgrund von Sparmaßnahmen in der heutigen Zeit auch noch als "Vorteil" verkaufen zu wollen. Fairerweise wurde uns die Vouchergebühr von 10.000 Baht rückerstattet. Wir fanden dann in Khao Lak eine wunderbare Poolvilla als mindestens vollwertigen Ersatz. Mein Gesamteindruck zum 500Rai: Hier soll scheinbar mit möglichst wenig Gegenleistung möglichst viel Geld gemacht
