"My 2nd time at this old but charming and very clean hotel. The staff there are very welcoming and in fact recognized me as a returning customer and was very warm with their hospitality. I stayed with my daughter this time and was a solo traveller last trip. She was also very happy with the old world charm of the hotel. The 1st time though, I was a bit spooked at the beginning as I checked in at 10pm after a day trip from Mont Saint Michel and the room had a very strong old world aura about it. So, for those who cannot take the old world charm, best to check in to a modern hotel. Other than that, the location is perfect for visiting many sites in central Paris on foot as it is near St. Germain, Saint Chapelle, Notre Dame Cathedral, St. Jacques Tower, Le Pompidou centre, BHV department store, les halle etc... The Chatelet metro which connects many train lines is just around the corner. Love this hotel. "

Citadines Les Halles Paris

"Overall, a very good hotel and good choice for our stay in Paris, short walk to the Louvre and the agency where we booked our Illuminations Tour and the Moulin Rouge show. Also, just 10min walk south wards is the Seine river, with near perfects views of the river and the eiffel Tower. Main attraction of the apartment is the really good location, it sits atop a interchange station for Metro and RER. Eateries abound around the apartment, Mac, KFC, Chinese Food, Pizza, night take away joints also offer food till 1am."

"Great welcome from the staff, lovely clean hotel in a fantastic location close to the Louvre and Palais Royal. With many restaurants close by as well as the RER at Chatelet Les Halles and the Metro at Louvre Rivoli for access to other areas. Breakfast is 19EUR per person in hotel (about par for the course in Paris hotels) for a basic but well presented spread or head to Starbucks or the other local restaurants for a cheaper alternative."

Pavillon Louvre Rivoli Hotel

"The hotel is perfectly located - 2 minutes to the subway to the Louvre to the Palais Royal, is very convenient. The windows in the room went directly to the street Moliere, opposite houses. A street is quiet, despite its location in the heart of Paris. Employees at receprion very friendly and polite. Settled even earlier than it should be. We arrived at 12, and we immediately settled (although the rules within 14 hours). Room, like all Parisian rooms in 2-3 stars, very small, but cozy. The room has a mini-bar, TV, bathroom with tub itself, the normal size. Removed cleanly, every day. The room air conditioner and heater, but do not use it at night and opened the window. The bathroom sink was cracked, and of course, it's not new now, but we came only to sleep, so it's not bothered. At the reception there is free wifi, coffee is also delicious poured. In general, the I'm glad Paris triple match, excellent location, price match. "

Relais Du Louvre Hotel

"The location of the hotel was excellent (directly opposite the east end of the Louvre). The room was small as expected and the rate was much higher than I normally would pay for. However the location was unbeatable and was easy to walk most places by foot eg. Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Ile de la Cite, Centre Pompidou. The room appears to have been recently refurbished as appliances and shower look new. The hotel staff were very friendly. Overall I was quite satisfied with the stay."

Cambon Hotel

"Couldn’t wish for a better situated hotel. Walked everywhere, from Louvre and Tuileries Gardens which are around the corner, to Arc de Triumph and Champs Elysses, Place de la Concorde even Eiffel Tower. Did i mention Chanel flagship store a block away. Actually there are TWO Chanel stores now right next to each other and to the hotel. Staff was wonderful, room great with big bathroom with a lot of counter space that is much appreciated by two girls traveling. Try Pierre Herme chocolates across the street.Little bites of heaven :P The bartenders at Flotte’s bistro across the street are very friendly and entertaining and make great cocktails. Would absolutely stay at hotel Cambon again. "

Handsome Hotel by Elegancia

"We booked a deluxe room & a superior room for our 4d3n stay. The deluxe room is quite narrow for tall people as it is at the top floor with slanted roof that occupied some of the space in the room. The superior room is very nice! There are spaces for us to put 2 large open luggages. Everything was very clean and new. The location is exceptionally convenient as it is just right in front of Chatelet Les Halles station (inside of forum les halles). And able to walked to Louvre museums, Centre Georges Pompidou, Picasso museum and Museum of Jewish Art and History Paris. We also booked L'Opentour hop-on-hop-off bus and we walked to Louvre museum bus stop as the route is easy to remember and near to the hotel. Staffs were nice too :) They answered my questions in email very efficiently with english. The front desk staffs are friendly and able to communicate in English too which makes everything easier. "

More about 1st - Louvre - Chatelet

Boasting some of the city’s most magnificent parks, museums, shops, and bars, the 1st Arrondissement occupies the right bank of the River Seine and extends onto the western section of the Île de la Cité. The best way to get around is on foot, as Paris cabs don't have access to much of the car-free eastern end of the arrondissement. The area is well-served by metro trains, which are fast and frequent.

Home to the Mona Lisa – the world’s most famous painting – the Louvre is one of the finest art museums in the world, and it is visitors need at least two full days to see its many treasures. A diverse underground shopping precinct, Le Carrousel du Louvre, adjoins the museum.

The Palais-Royal and its stunning gardens are opposite the north wing of the Louvre. In the north-west corner of the gardens is the Théâtre du Palais Royal. On the south-west corner sits the magnificent Comédie Française: the world’s longest established national theatre.

West of the Louvre is the Jardin des Tuileries: a central open space with semi-formal gardens, cafés, stalls, and very often, a ferris wheel. North of this is Place Vendôme: a rectangular square famous for its fashionable boutiques and deluxe hotels such as The Hôtel Ritz Paris and the Park Hyatt Vendôme.

Some of the most opulent hotels in the world are located in the 1st arrondissement – celebrities often bed down at Le Meurice – but there are some mid-range options. The area has a surprisingly wide range of dining options, from fine dining to street stalls.
