Unprofessional ”

Had booked a week before trip, but was so appalled by receiving a call a day before from the booking company informing us that the guest house has closed. Had to make new booking arrangements a few hours before leaving to Johannesburg. Unacceptable and disgraceful.

Exceptional”

Just spent one night at this venue. Very modern and clean and the hosts were friendly. The only drawback was that the hot water pressure on the shower rose seemed to be low/or the shower rose does not suit the water pressure. But otherwise we will certainly be back in the future.

Unprofessional Behavior by Owner (Lady)”

We booked for a classic double room and given a small room (individual) with small old bed. When we asked for clarity, the response was "I'm fully booked with oversees people, take this one or leave".

The area very beautiful but we were not properly welcomed. The owner is very cold.On our first night there wasn’t any hot water in our room but plans were made . We were moved to a cottage that was a bit quieter than the other rooms. The breakfast area was very clean and beautiful.

We never felt welcome, as the manager tried to avoid contact. For example, breakfast was set out, without any contact with her. Tried to find her several times with no response. We had to request candles during a power outage as it never occurred to her to provide them.

Comfortable guesthouse in secure location”

This is a guesthouse, not a hotel - guests are lodged in a two-storey cottage on a slope (so looks like single-storey) below the impressively big family home. It is located on a ridge in the suburb of Northcliff, with a tremendous view over greater Johannesburg. I was only resident one night, for a family event, on my way from Europe to Australia. I chose this guest house because it was close to the family retirement home. My room was a single room at the lower level with full-frontage glass sliding doors, a very comfortable bed and a big airy bathroom/shower. Geese wandered around the garden in front - the garden is very lush, and there is a guest swimming pool. The host was very friendly. The breakfast was sumptuous. It was a very convenient and comfortable stay.

A pleasant stay , a bigger dining facility a must!”

Generally a pleasant stay although the dining facility is small and requiring extension. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the internet is pretty fast !

Guest House with breathtaking views”

Hillel Guest Manor exceeded my expectations. The panoramic views of Johannesburg are just breathtaking, especially in Spring when all the Jacarandas are in their full purple glory! The service was excellent and the lady in charge very attentive to her guests' needs. The rooms are very spacious, modern, beautifully decorated and has all the amenities. The gardens and rooms are very well maintained, which reflects well on the owner's standards. Even though I only stayed there one night, I felt right at home and will definitely stay there again in the future.

Wir waren mit unserem Aufenthalt bis auf Kleinigkeiten rund um zufrieden. Das Gästehaus liegt leicht erhöht mit wunderschönem Ausblick, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten zu Fuß erreichbar. Unser einziger Kritikpunkt: Die Gastgeber wohnen separat in einem eigenen Haus und sind nur schwer erreichbar (keine Klingel, Telefonnummer). Wenn man die Gastgeber jedoch erreicht/sieht sind diese auch sehr hilfsbereit (Taxi, Essensbestellung,...).

Günstiges Hotel, keine Essensmöglichkeit”

Der Empfang war ziemlich unfreundlich. von der Eigentümerin war ziemlich unfreundlich. Auf die Frage, ob es bei Ihr oder in der Umgebung Essensmöglichkeit gäbe negative Antwort. Hotel und Häuser der Umgebung sind mit Stacheldraht und Sicherheitspersonal gesichert. Auf die Frage, ob man sich Abends frei bewegen könnte, gab es die unverstänliche Antwort " warum nicht?" Kann das Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen, da genügend Alternativen in JNB angeboten werden.
